“Crack house or motel?”

Well, i've been here three times in my life and i could say it loud: the worst motel 6 in universe.
I fight 3 times with reception staff.Very unhelpfull, very lazy. Once I've seen one of this guy litteraly yawn on a customer face.Another time they gave me a wrong night fee and never seen my money back, only 10 bucks , but hey, i've to work to earn 10 bucks.Sure i've never been able to talk with the manager, always busy.
Pool didn't work on my last stay for 5 days.
Room are standard motel 6 room, maybe a bit old,but the problem is once i havent seen the housekeeping for 3 days.Oh yeah, i find also a bug, but only one, i've asked him to move on room nearby.
Now the best part of the experience: strange people come over on this motel, prostitute, drunken milf and so on.I've met also a guy, comin from nearby hood, that offered me 5 dollars to smoke "don't know what" in my room.
On my first stay there was a nightguard rolling around, but maybe he find a better job.

Why i spent so many nights here?
If you are a student, or a guy that don't care too much about safety you could also find this place an human experience (like an hostel on ex USSR 10 yrs ago:)and sure, is cheap and I love dania beach.Hey, I'm still here loughing while i'm writing this review.

Room Tip: sleep in your car.

“Typical Motel 6”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed for 3 nights this past week. I had a better experience than other reviewers and I have stayed at a lot (~50) Motels 6s. My room was relatively quiet despite being close to the road. Biggest negative was a stale smell in my room which I couldn't localize; it wasn't the linen so probably the carpets. Bed was too soft but did the job. Happy it was a tub shower and not the narrow stalls that you get in many other Motel 6's where you don't even have room to reach to wash your legs & feet. But it had the same restrictor flow shower heads and faucets which are terrible...it takes 3 times as long to rinse soap off. Check in was quickly and reception was friendly during my stay. The night patrolman was consicentiously doing his job an I found the location convenient.

Kids screaming and running down the hallways, several power cuts, terrible service, dirty rooms. Definitely a no-go.

“It couldn't be worse”

I booked a room but cancelled after reading the reviews. But when I got to town I went by and asked to see a non smoke room. It had an odor but for $39 I was going to overlook it. Then I noticed I was being bit on the ankles ans calves. Flea infested. I shook bugs off all the way back to the office. When I told my friends about it they said "MOTEL 6 DANIA, that's where all the pedophiles stay. I would put a dog in that place.

Room Tip: A nice hotel,Universal Palms,at commercial and powerline $69+ tax

“a little sleazy but fun”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

Stayed here for over 3 weeks in July/Aug this year, only intended to stay one night, but I 'renewed" a couple of times. The room was clean, with handy facilities like cold A/C, Cable TV, and I found it clean and tidy, good bathroom and toilet. I chose a non-smoking room. The lack of a refrigerator or basic cooking was a downer, but they have this cute way of compensating for lack of frig where you get these buckets of ice from big machines in reception...so any milk or beer you have bought you can kind of keep it cold if you have an Esky cold-box, or actually I used one of the small tidy-bins as a makeshift cooler. the morning ritual for ice and complimentary coffee was actually kind of fun, and was part of the little communal experience as you pass the other guests on the way.The coffee is surprisingly good, btw, unless it was just because I was jonesing for coffee anyway.
The pool is very nice looking, although try as I might, I didnt get a chance to use it.
Dania Beach/Hollywood beach itself down at the end of the road over the bridge, is so beautiful that you tend to do most of your bathing there. But its a fair walk, maybe 1.5km, I had a bicycle anyway.
Motel 6 is frequented by many "colorful characters" and '"wildlife" that I was at first apprehensive, but in the end, they made my stay fun and eventful, the sense that "something might happen".in any case, noone messed with me, and most were polite and friendly, even if some were high as kites. There is a security guard at night, and the Broward County deputies repond pretty quick to any problem. There was a car-jacking one day, which was exciting and perversely kind of cool, but it wasnt random, these guys knew each other, you get the picture.
Motel 6 also operates as a trucker stop, which is good in one way as many of the trucks are works of art and truckers may be interesting to talk to...but downsides are the occasional trucker who likes to leave his truck idling for an excessive amount of time, which I did get pissed with one guy over, and also if you get a refrigerator truck running all night if ur in rear carpark area as I was, in carpark you can hear it, although the rooms have a fair bit of sound deadening it seems.
The other downer is the presence of the Florida Midgey Widgey midge-mite things, which are tiny bugs which jump on you and bite , as Motel 6 Dania is backing onto a swamp.
Overall it was good deal price-wise and I liked my stay on East Dania Blvd at the '6, I would stay again if I visit,Id bring a proper coolbox, an electric jug for coffee, a can of bug repellant to repel those damn midgeys,
Fun and value for $$,
but it may not be for everyone if ur used to very classy conservative environs.
