The new owner Gene and Linda are great people. My wife and i left a play just south of the south beach inn the days inn to stay at thiers what a good choose we made.right on the ocean just a few miles from cocobeachcan'nt say enough good thing about the inn you'll love your stay at the south beach inn 5 stars in my book

Good - Location is awesome. Far enough south of town that you aren't in the busy area but within an easy drive or cab ride from multiple restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly and the grounds are very well maintained. Dog friendly but they aren't allowed on the beach due to Brevard county ordinances. The rooms are very clean despite the age of the place and comes with a fridge. The bathroom in the room appeared to have been recently renovated. There are a couple grills and a nice picnic area in the courtyard.

Bad - The rooms could use some updating. The dinette/living area furniture was mismatched and one of the chairs was broken. Over all the interior decor has a dated and well worn feel.

Overall a great value and the good greatly exceeds the bad.

By a friend's suggestion, I tried to book this hotel, and coincidently the day NASA announced they were moving their shuttle launch to my arrival date. I had sent in a "reservation request" online that went unanswered and when I saw that the launch date was changed, I called the hotel to see if it was available, if not I had to act quickly to make other plans. I was told that I would have to make reservations for the whole week because of the shuttle launch. I was free to check out before then, but they would charge me for the whole week! Since I had waited to hear back from this hotel, I missed my opportunity to book another area hotel (which I realize is my fault, I just did not want to be double charged). Of course, no hotel was available and I now have to change my travel dates. Despite the high recommendation, I was so turned off by their attitude, I can't bring myself to book a room here.

Quiet, pristine beachfront location is so nice. Really great views from units on east end of building. Ask Patty for Rooms 18 or 19. We appeared to be the only guests without a dog, (seriously) which was okay, we like dogs. The barking might put some people off. Guest profile appears to be largely refugees fleeing AA meetings; as everyone we saw after 9 a.m. carried a tumbler of spirits. (No kidding) There were no kids around (maybe because there is not pool?) which was nice. Staff is indeed really nice and earnest. Self-service (no housekeeping) policy worked fine for us. No beach towels nor hair dryers in rooms. No restaurants right close by, and kitchenettes in units could answer that concern. Best restaurant around (Fat Snook) is less than a mile down the street. If we return to Cocoa Beach we would likely stay here again.
