1. Housekeepers pilfered through our luggage. Our bags were moved and zippers left open. Thank Goodness they at least provided a safe which we had locked our valuables in before leaving.
2. Upon arrival, There were stains on the bench seat, countertop and bed skirt. Their were hairs on one of the pillows and the bathroom was beyond gross and smelled like urine with muddy streaks on the floor along with clumps of hair and the toilet seat was covered in debris and hair. They spent so much time snooping that they didn't bother to clean - they didn't even bother to make the beds, they only spread the sheets up towards the pillow on one bed and left some clean towels and a new coffee pack.
3. The air conditioner is so loud it disrupts your sleep, along with the noise from the highway and the other guests outside it's difficult to rest.
4. Breakfast consistst of donuts, toast, cold cereal, coffee and juice. It's free so you can't really complain about this but it's not really very filling so you should probably include breakfast out somewhere in your budget.
5. On the plus side...The location is decent, the beds were pretty comfortable, the lobby is pretty and there are big flat screen tv's in the room.
My dad stayed with me and he is used to sleeping in a semi-truck so his requirements on a hotel are few - clean and safe. This place was neither. It had potential to be nice if staff was polite, housekeeping actually cleaned the rooms and you could trust that they wouldn't search through your luggage. Even with hotwire's low $35 rate, by the time you add taxes and the $5 "resort" fee to the cost it ended up being almost $50/night. For that cost you could get a nicer room somewhere else. Hotwire has lost another customer.
