“Tad expensive but good for short stay”

I stayed in Double tree while in town for a business related visit. The big positivies is their staff: very helpful and courteous. They accomodated almost every request of mine: cab requests to late check-out because of my flight delays... The customer service is really good.

The food was not particularly good. But there are a few good restaurants across the road (Olive Garden is my favorite). I had to depend on those for food. The walls are very thin and you feel you can hear people walk/talk around sometimes.

I found the rooms to be priced (145$ + taxes) little higher compared to other options in the same city.

“Quite expensive and pretty poor quality”

Stayed at the double tree for work at the beginning of December. The rooms were pretty small and not particularly clean. On one ocassion smelly food was left in the corridor over night, and the floor we were staying on was being renovated during our stay. Staff in the restaurant were the only real upside. They were very friendly and helpful. Really. It worth 300 bucks a night.

“Subpar for a hilton”

Stayed over Thanksgiving for 3 nights, mix of good and bad points. First the good: the staff were very friendly, especially Hector the bartender, room service was also quite nice. The bad points outweigh the good however: walls are very thin and we could hear everything that was going on around us in the other rooms and the corridor, the room was non-smoking but I could smell smoke in the mornings from some other room that obviously wasn't non-smoking. As per the other reviews the A/C was noisy, although in this case that was a blessing as I used it as a white noise machine ;)

Cleanliness rating reflects the smoke, else the room was clean. Stayed in 715

Dear Robert,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on trip advisor. I appreciate your kind comments regarding our staff and will be sure to share them with everyone, especially Hector. I am sorry that the noise levels were high this past weekend. Alas, we tried to mitigate by having our manager on duty and security officer conduct routine rounds throughout the weekend. As for the smoke, the seventh floor rooms are non-smoking, but I have instructed the Executive Housekeeper to follow up with the room attendants to ensure they are reporting any smells. Again, please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconveniences caused during your stay. I do hope that in light your experience, you will give us another opportunity to make it up to you. Best wishes during holiday season...

“Need a renovation”

Stayed for business. The room was clean and the service was good. The shower barily spayed water when trying to take a shower.
The interior of the hotel is in need of a renovation. The in-room airconditioner was really loud, I had to turn it off completely in order to get som sleep.
Breakfast claimed to be claimed to be good. However I found it to be poor in choice selection.
I mainly had scrambled eggs and bacon with a bagel on the side. The coffee was bad (as for most american hotels).
The hotel bartender 'Hector' was a real character that lit up the mood in the evenings.

Dear Traveler,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay and for the lovely comments regarding the cleanliness and service. I know the team will appreciate your comments knowing that their efforts do not go unnoticed. I also read you were displeased with the showerhead and the air conditioning unit in your room. If you can please let me know which room had these two issues via evelyn.montalvo@hilton.com, I would be happy to take a look at these. Though, since your visit, the chances are good, they may have been addressed. As for the breakfast, please accept my sincerest apologies for the selection, we do offer 3 different freshly cut fruits, an assortment of yogurts, cereal, pastries, breads and juices along with scrambled eggs or eggs made to order, bacon, sausage, french toast, breakfast fritatas, potatoes, hard boiled eggs and oatmeal. With also offer various toppings for the fruit, eggs , french toast and yogurt like brown sugar, raisins, granola, berry toppings, and cheese. I will say that we are modifying our breakfast buffet slightly in January 2012 to include homemade muffins. I will also speak to my breakfast team to ensure they are letting guests know that we do offer eggs made to offer as part of the buffet. This includes omelets, poached eggs and eggs over easy/medium/hard. Again, thank you for your review and I hope to hear from you regarding the room. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

“Just Perfect”

I don't normally pay more that $80 for a room. To me just a waste if all I am doing is putting my head down. This time though I wanted an indoor pool for the kids so I was going to pay for it. Though not in downtown Wilmington it wasn't far out either it was...Just Perfect. The room was clean, plenty of pillows for 4 of us and the pool was delightful. The cost after AAA was just under a $100. Stay and enjoy...just be aware the cookies they hand out have nuts and nothing is said.

Room Tip: Normally you hear people walking and talking and I didn't hear any of that.
