“Back again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We booked the Calvert's Sanctuary for a 3 night stay over the New Year weekend and once again, relaxed and enjoyed. It was fortunate that this winter has been so warm as we sat on the front deck and sipped our brandy enjoying this charming town. The room was wonderful and, we believe, haunted! Would wake up finding our door unlocked every morning and photos moved within the room! Hey, the spirit let us sleep and that is all we cared about as never worried about anyone entering the room uninvited as the hotel is filled with great staff and guests. Food - eat at the restaurant and you will not be disappointed.
Can't say enough about this hotel and we expect to be back as still looking for our new home in the area and this is a great place to retreat too after your busy day. When we move, expect to visit the restaurant many times as our retirement treat to ourselves along with many other things!
Stay here and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Calvert's Sanctuary is the best!

Thank you so much for your kind words! One of my greatest "charges" of my staff is to make sure that my guests feel welcomed and at home. Sounds like they have once again met my expectations.

It was wonderful meeting you both, and I do hope that we can look forward to our paths crossing again sometime in the future!

“Excellent B&B Gem close to the Delaware Beaches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Brick Hotel this past weekend and had a wonderful time.
It exceeded our expectations in every way. Lynn and staff are very friendly and helpful. The Brick Hotel is about 20 minutes from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and the Tanger shopping outlets. Our dinner and Sunday Breakfast buffet were both excellent. We would like to go back again in warmer weather to use the outdoor sitting area. Would definitely recommend the Brick Hotel. While at the Brick, check out the new 16 Mile Brewery tavern only a mile away.

Room Tip: We stayed in "the Baker" and liked it very much.

It was our pleasure to have you visit with us, and are glad that your stay was everything you had hoped it to be. We are hopeful that our outdoor areas enticed you enough to return to our historic little town in warmer weather!! Here's hoping our paths will cross again sometime in the future ~

“Beautifully Restored "Haunted" Historic Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We tried this B&B with a Living Social coupon during the weekend of 1/13/12- 1/15/12 and we loved it. We stayed in the "Lazy Daisy" room. The owners did a fantastic job at renovating the hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated, spacious, and comfortable. I loved that there was a towel warmer in the bathroom and a bathrobe- it made us feel at home. I loved the fact that the owners put in a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen area for the guests to enjoy at their leisure. When we arrived we were greeted by Lynn who then showed us to our rooms. She was very attentive and friendly. She went the extra mile by being accessible to her guests 24-hours a day via her cell phone in case there were any issues or concerns. There was a small continental breakfast both days which consisted of muffins, scones, fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh juice, and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. We ate at the restaurant the first night, the food is good- but a bit over priced. Try their cream of crab soup- it is amazing! We ate the second night at Irish Eyes Pub about 20 minutes away from the hotel- the food is amazing and the prices are reasonable. The only downside of the trip was that the bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable; although my boyfriend did not mind it. We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: The "Lazy Daisy" room had a private balcony with a table and chairs (the weather was too c...

“Great B&B!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Stayed at the Brick Hotel this weekend and had a wonderful time. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly. We ate at the restaurant both nights we were there and the food was delicious each time. It's about a 25 minute drive from the outlets where we got some really great deals on our holiday shopping. Complimentary snacks in your room as well as in the pantry. Had a great time! Would like to go back in warmer weather to use the balcony and outdoor sitting area. Would definitely recommend the Brick Hotel. Note: No iron or ironing board in the room.

“Great B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

We tried this B&B with a Living Social coupon last weekend and were extremely impressed. The B&B is a historic hotel, which the owners have done a fabulous job renovating. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the common areas are inviting. The owners were attentive and friendly. A small breakfast consisting of muffins, scones (which were delicious), fruit, and yogurt is served every morning. Coffee, tea and popcorn are available all day. When you check in, there are complementary drinks and snacks. I was sad that we were not able to make the daily “happy hour” where guest are served wine with appetizers. One additional highlight was the outdoor decks with heated lamps overlooking the town circle. The B&B is about a 20 minute scenic drive, with some antique shopping to the Lewes beach and the outlet malls. We had such a great stay we didn’t want to leave, but we will definitely go back!
