“Downtown Denver stay at the Oxford Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Oxford is a lovely, refurbished hotel in downtown Denver, with many great restaurants and shopping within walking distance. While they have many niceties, the car service is of great benefit, as you can arrange rides within a two mile radius of the hotel. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are very accommodating. We had drinks at their handsome bar which were excellent. The only snafu was the reduced staff at breakfast in the dining area. It took longer than expected to receive our food orders and pay. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant place to stay.

It almost became comical...can we check in early...yes..no problem. No, I'm sorry, we are sold out of 2 double bed rooms...would a junior suite work? Need a late check out? Yes, we can do that....need the Town car to pick you up...you guessed it...they can do that! The service was over the top...very efficient and accommodating! Fabulous location. Fabulous staff. The health club was wonderful...great yoga class on Sunday morning. We loved our stay at the Oxford!

“Excellent Accomodations/People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We've done numerous weekend get-aways. The Oxford is by far the nicest hotel we've stayed out - both the hotel and staff. Our room was an intimate period room, adorned with old oak furniture. The staff was wonderful, very accomodating and extremely friendly.

This is a go-back-to place for our future get-aways.

Room Tip: Our room was great. Don't know about the others.

“The Oxford makes wedding dreams come true!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

As most parents know, the wedding of any daughter is special, eventful and stressful; but this was my first wedding for a daughter! What did we know? Not much.
Fortunately the wedding/reception coordinator at The Oxford Hotel in Denver, Colorado, is experienced. She had wonderful ideas for the flow of guests, table arrangement, and timing of the event (cake cutting, dance, toasts,etc.).
The hotel is exquisitely decorated for Christmas with a jaw dropping lobby display that awed our guests.
The hotel management was incredibly accommodating; the maid of honor needed a room near the ballroom because she had a 2 1/2 month old infant, elderly guests were escorted into the hotel and shown to the elevator, the coordinator checked in with me several times during the evening to be sure all was well, the wait staff boxed up the centerpieces for me that night (after midnight!) for easy pick up the next morning.
This reception could not have gone smoother. The hotel is a boutique hotel one block up from the historic Union Station (train station) and every room feels as though you have stepped back to the turn of century. Large black and white squares tile every bathroom, deep tub, floor to ceiling windows, fireplaces, overstuffed furniture, etc.
My daughter and son-in-law "earned" the Presidential Suite by having family and friends use the spa over the past year. That patronage is tracked and once it reaches a certain amount, the bride and groom earn a free night in the suite. The Presidential Suite is a corner room with 2 full bathrooms, a sitting room with sofa and overstuffed chairs and desk, both bedroom and sitting room have fireplaces, a 1920's style lounge chair in the bedroom, full length mirror and wardrobe in the bedroom - such a bride's dream!
I highly recommend The Oxford for a wedding, reception, honeymoon, weekend get away or any excuse you can come up with!!

“Historic Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I only have good things to say about the Oxford Hotel in downtown Denver. The lobby is gorgeous and it is like stepping back in time, and the staff are very welcoming. The rooms are dated but it is the oldest hotel in Denver so you would not expect or want it to be a modern experience. The location is central to everything, or at least walking distance. Be sure to pop into the Cruise Room bar which is right off the lobby. The ambiance and martinis there are second to none. We will be back

Room Tip: We had a King deluxe room which was very spacious. Not sure how a queen would be
