“Not LoDo, but NearDo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This newer hotel is not quite downtown, but very close (less than a mile) from the LoDo area where you'll find Coors Field, the Pepsi Center, and Elitch Gardens amusement park. It's a good chunk cheaper than the cheapest downtown hotel I could find, and it's very conveniently located just off I-25. So if you don't mind being not quite downtown, it represents an excellent value.
The property is relatively new, in great condition, and I found the staff to be fairly attentive. Would I stay here again if I wanted to be in (near) downtown Denver and were on a budget? Definitely.

Room Tip: East facing rooms look toward city

“A "thank you" card”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Nice and very clean. The first hotel to give us a Thank You card upon departure. Nice touch!

“Decent stay but nothing stands out”

Stayed a couple of nights at hampton Inn, Devner speer Blvd in August 2011.

On arrival was welcomed & promptly checked in. we were placed in a room overlooking the busy road and at times there was noticable traffic noise - not a deal breaker but for those sensitive to noise it worth asking at checkin where your room is located in the building.

Location:
Convenient for Denver (if you have a car as we did) and this hotel offers reasonable rates as its not directly in the city centre.

Room:
Was very clean, bed was comfy.
TV was flatscreen.

Breakfast:
I know recent comments are very positive in regards to the breakfast but when we stayed in August the breakfast was in my opinion just a bit underwhelming/functional - lots of refined carbs, high sugar options, the limited fruit options had seen better days - ended up with an english muffin & peanut butter.
Staff were very friendly though.

Hotel offers free parking which is much appreciated but the parking lot was full and the overspill area was dimly lit - I was with my other half but would have been a bit hesitant parking there alone/at night.

There is a pool which we did not use but it looked clean.

Check out was very efficient

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room away from the road

“Pretty good...just a few annoying things”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We were able to book a decent rate for this Hampton on Hilton.com. It is centrally located and we really liked that it is just outside the chaos of downtown but only a few minute drive if we wanted to go to that area to eat. We were impressed with the front desk agent that checked us in and the room was small but pretty much what we expected. The front desk agent that checked us in gave us some great suggestions for dinner and we really enjoyed pizza at Pasquini's which was only a few blocks away. The breakfast was the standard Hampton hot breakfast and it was great. The fitness room was a decent size and offered cardio equipment as well as free weights. The pool and spa area looked clean but we did not use it. Now for the negatives:
1. No matter what time of day or night, every time we walked in to the hotel lobby (with exception of our great check in experience) the front desk staff was sitting in the breakfast area watching TV. They made us feel like we were inconveniencing them if we needed something.
2. We found hairs that did not belong to us in the shower before we used it...
3. The housekeeper on our floor was BLASTING music while she cleaned. I finally stuck my head out of our room to see what was going on and she turned it down slightly. We along with a few others on the hall had do not disturb signs out so we expected the staff to be more considerate.
4. The heating unit (wall unit, not central) in our room was so loud it continually woke us up all through the night. It was very cold at night and we could not decide if freezing and not being able to sleep was better or worse than constantly waking up because of the heater noise.
5. I worked out in the fitness center the first day and was thankful for the towel and water provided. I was disappointed when I went down to work out the second day and found that there were no towels available in the fitness center.
We understand that all of these may not be the norm and we would probably stay at this property again in the future.

“Very comfortable and convenient to downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

This was my second stay at a Hampton Inn in a month, in cities far apart. But both were great places. The staff was warm and friendly (one brought up fresh baked cookies to our room on Christmas afternoon), the room very comfortable. The breakfast was quite good, and the pool and hot tub clean and inviting. Very conveniently located, both for downtown and visiting family. I will definitely stay there again.
