“Our home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

We love the Adagio. It's like a home, with it's beautiful parlor, dining room, garden, and attractive rooms. The beds are very comfortable, with lovely down comforters.
Helen's warm and generous spirit pervades everything, from the decor to the copious home made breakfasts. We love to linger over breakfast and enjoy talking with other interesting guests as well as with Helen.
The Adagio is a great value, but more important, it is a great pleasure to stay there. We highly recommend it.

“We wouldn't stay anywhere else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

The rooms are attractive, each decorated differently, and most are unusually large. The breakfasts, which are included, are superb. The garden in back is wonderful in the summer for breakfast, or for reading and relaxing. Best of all is the warm welcome we get from the innkeeper, Helen, who takes a special interest in each of her guests.
Our daughter and family live in Denver, so we have been staying at the Adagio for years. We look forward to each visit.

“This wonderful inn has a convenient location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

My wife and I have spent many enjoyable nights in the Adagio while visiting our daughter in Denver. Helen, the owner, is a charming hostess and a marvelous cook. The inn and its rooms are clean and beautiful, and the location is highly convenient to Denver's many attractions. Although visiting our daughter remains our top priority, we also treasure the conversations we have with our affable hostess. In a word, the Adagio is a gem.

“Horrible & rude service”

The owner of this bed & breakfast won't return our phone calls. We had to cancel our reservation for our 1st wedding anniversary due to both of us contracting a contagious flu virus. The owner charged our credit card AFTER our cancellation, refused to return our phone calls to discuss the matter, told us that "several people in the past have tried to get their money back and she always wins". That statement alone should be a warning to anyone who deals with this bed & breakfast. She stole $258.41, won't speak to us, and says if we don't rebook in 2 months, its our loss. We can't rebook within two months due to work and would anyone want to stay in such an unprofessionally operated business?!?

The person who wrote this review is NOT the person who made the reservation. Her husband made the reservation two days prior to the date they wished to stay. He booked by calling and talking to my innkeeper. My innkeeper took the pertinent information and advised him of our policy: three days prior to check-in there would be a charge on his credit card if he cancelled and we were unable to re-rent the room. I e-mailed him the follwing day confirming the reservation and reiterating our cancellation policy. The e-mail was returned as "undeliverable".

At 7:00 a.m. the morning of the reservation, the husband called and left a message on our recording stating that they were sick and had to cancel the reservation.

I charged his card as is in keeping with my policy; however, I did send him a letter stating that under the circumstances, I would extend the invitation to come anytime within the next two months at no charge. Fowllowing the receipt of my letter, I received two nasty and threatening phone messages. I did not return the calls because I didn't wish to be involved in a hostile confrontation. The third call came from the husband and I did take the call. It was cordial, and I again invited them to come, even extending the time until April, 2011.

I thought we had resolved the issue. I stand firm by my policy, but I am hopeful this couple will reconsider their stance on this issue and visit us, whereupon we can show them our hospitality. Perhaps then we will both feel more positive about this unpleasant experience.

“Great B&B, great service, great staff, great location!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2009

Traveling to Denver on business or leisure? You will not find a better Bed and Breakfast or hotel in the Denver area. My new wife and I stayed at the Adagio recently on our honeymoon, and were overwhelmed at it's amenities, the great staff, and the wonderful location. Helen and Julie were so wonderful to us, very friendly, and courteous. The Adagio, particularly the Holst room were beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the patio was stunning, with all the wonderful plants and flowers. The location is great, only 5 minutes from downtown, centrally located whether you are heading to mountains, or downtown. The Adagio is located in an upper-class neighborhood, close to Cheesman Park. Thanks again to Helen and Julie for a wonderful stay at the Adagio.
