“Great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We recently had a wonderful stay at the Adagio! We stayed in the Debussy room three nights while in Denver. From here we were able to walk to several parks and the zoo. It's a very convenient place to stay for walking or driving. The breakfasts we were served were phenomenal. Each breakfast was creative and unique. Helen and Bill were incredible hosts and super friendly. The price was lower than many area hotels and you get so much more. The Internet service was fast enough to watch streaming video each night before going to bed. The neighborhood is nice and quiet at night. My only gripe is that the mattress sloped toward the middle of the bed slightly and seemed a bit aged. Highly recommended!

“Great place near the center of Denver”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Sue and I stopped in Denver at the end of our Colorado vacation. Helen provides comfortable rooms in a beautiful Victorian setting. She also provided a delicious breakfast and pleasant conversation.

“An Adagio Bed & Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner would become my new home”

While planning to attend a large scientific meeting at the Denver Convention Center I looked for an alternative to the high-priced hotels in its vicinity. I found Adagio online but wasn't sure if it was close enough or what the experience might be. To those of you wondering the same, let me say that this was perhaps the best B&B experience I've ever had.
As for proximity to the convention center, it was an easy trip on the #15 bus ($2.25), stopping one block away (15th & Stout) inbound and three blocks outbound (17th & Welton). Even after 10 PM I had no problems on public transit.
As for breakfast, Adagio sets the gold standard. I have stayed in places that had no breakfast (found through AirBnB) or a minimal one (commercial pastries and coffee), but owner Helen prepared delicious and varied meals customized for the diverse preferences and dietary needs of the three guests who were there that time. In my days there I had an omelet, a scramble, a quiche, home-made breads, sausages, bacon, and fresh fruit dishes, all served outdoors on a large private patio. I think an Adagio Bed & Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner would become my new home.
The Victorian house was beautifully restored by Helen herself and my room (The Handel) was large and comfortable with a large bathroom and shower en suite.
The live-in manager Bill is a friendly and knowledgeable Colorado native who makes sure the coffee is ready when you get up and keeps your mug full. I had such a good time eating, soaking up the outdoors, and chatting with Helen, Bill and the other guests that I was late to the conference every day.
If I ever return to Denver I will make it a point to try to return to Adagio.

“Excellent B&B, proximate to everything”

Several years ago i cautiously selected the Adagio B&B because it was seemingly the only available room in Denver. I was in Denver on business and was expecting to stay at one of the more 'generic' hotels (e.g. Mariott, Hyatt etc). Once I walked into the place and met Helen and her staff, I rapidly discovered that I lucked into a really good situation.

The building itself is beautiful Helen takes great care in constantly maintaining and upgrading the property. When I was just there, she was installing a new fence in her parking lot because she was concerned that the existing structure didn't convey the quality she wanted to represent. The Adagio has super clean rooms, an amazing courtyard, and really cool common areas.

All of these great amenities are complemented by the great attitude that both Helen and her staff exhbit toward her guests. Furthermore, the guests that the Adagio attracts are also very interesting. I have met everyone from a priest in town to get some advice from his "head parish" to business folks like myselft to couples honeymooning.

All and all really great experience. Whenever I come into Denver, there is no question where I stay.

“Colorado's Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

This is a lovely Victorian home in a gentrified neighborhood near downtown, but it's best assets are Owner Helen Grayson and manager Bill. They are gracious and accommodating in every way. Wonderful breakfasts are cooked up and promptly served in the beautiful garden, weather permitting. Rooms are quiet, quaintly appointed and air conditioned , the beds are very comfortable. Helen will join you after breakfast and the distinction between proprietor and guest quickly fades into a feeling of family familiarity. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we intend to return in the future.

Room Tip: We particularly enjoyed the
