After my last visit in April, I wanted to update as this place has dramatically improved in many ways. You can tell people care. The entire outside is being painted and looks fantastic. The tennis courts were refurbished and there is a computer in the lobby for guests to use for free. This helps when traveling on business. The entire 2nd floor hotel rooms have been renovated and are spotless. As usual, its location is good for restaurants and close to the highway. The pool area is one of the best I have seen. There is also a new restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and its good food. I was told it is run now by a owner who runs several restaurants in the area. Good value for the money and the views are spectacular.

As a somewhat regular visitor to the Satellite Hotel, I found no semblance of quality on this past trip. Every staff member I encountered appeared to want to be somewhere (anywhere) else. Front desk staff were engaged in personal phone calls most times that we visited the front desk. The clincher for me was the free shuttle between the hotel and airport. It reeked of cigarette smoke, was littered with discarded wrappers and water bottles, and the dashboard and carpeting had stains and spills. It resembled a van that is someone's home, too, and went way beyond clutter--to deep-down ingrained dirt.

I loved the sites, Pikes Peak etc but was not thrilled with the Satilite hotel. It was alright but alot of the rooms have been converted into permanet living spaces for disabled/elderly and the bar/dining area was cramped and full of these people.

Housekeeping in hotel rooms not the best of quality as in past years visits, otherwise may visit again
