Wow to the size of the rooms, wow to the great west Hollywood location and fantastic staff.
Breakfast room is small...... Don't worry, have it by the pool.
Gym is good, laundry room so convenient on a month long trip.
Highly recommend this great hotel with fantastic character.

My adult daughter and I spent 3 days at the Sunset Plaza. It could not have been any better! We had a huge room with a private patio. The bedding was lux, the service friendly, the decor charming, the pool and patio inviting, and even the parking was plentiful. Though there was a daily charge for parking, it was well worth it considering what a nightmare it is to park anywhere in West Hollywod. It is a short walk to Trader Joes to stock up your refrigerator. Go south a couple blocks and you are on Santa Monica Blvd. with lots of great shops and restaraunts. We also recommend dining directly across the street at the Saddle Ranch Restaraunt - great food and service.

This is a basic motel with limited services and a front desk staff that seemed cranky more times than not. The breakfast was fine, but the staff wouldn't open the doors until just after the stated 7:30 time (not even for people to just sit and wait). In addition, they weren't even fully prepared at that time. After a woman opened the doors at 7:32 the staff member walked past her and rolled her eyes annoyed that she wanted to come in.
Perhaps the rooms overlooking the pool are lovely, but our VERY small room looking at a brick wall that they tried to cover a bit with vines was anything but. I don't usually complain (if you see my other reviews) but this place was touted to be so great here on trip advisor that I felt the need to share my more negative views.
However, the place isn't all bad. The pool area was nice and the location worked good for us. For just over $200 a night in this area I suppose I got what I paid for.

My two daughters and I had a wonderful stay here from May 4-8. All of the staff from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean and very comfortable. Great bedding, mini fridge, microwave, TV with lots of channels, full breakfast included, free WIFI, free computer to use off the lobby - absolutely everything you could need. The view overlooking the pool and gardens was beautiful - the flowers are spectacular. Very well located hotel with tours that will pick you up at the door and taxis readily available. This hotel only serves breakfast but there are lots of restaurants just down the street (recommend Le Petit Four and Saddle Ranch across the road). Room service is provided by Saddle Ranch across the road and we found that to be very good and efficient. We actually had reserved rooms at a different hotel which turned out to be terrible and we took a cab to The Best Western Sunset Plaza Hotel and were sold as soon as we saw the room and spoke to Julio and Lucy on the front desk. We parted with our deposit at the other hotel and were very happy we did! We will definately stay here on our next visit.
