Spent a week here on business. Overall it was a pretty good stay. As a gold hhonors member I got free breakfast in the restaurant which was whatever I wanted off the menu. This was nice, and the food was good, but if I had to pay for breakfast I probably would have chosen to stay at a Hampton Inn instead. The lobby was very nice and the staff was friendly. They had free fruit and cookies available each evening. The room was fine and the TV was great with plenty (over 50) of channels to choose from (which seems hard to get at hotels anymore). The pool looked okay, but it was too cold out to use.
There were 2 bad points to the stay. First was the elevators: they are very slow which gets quite annoying after a few days. And second, and much more significantly, was the beds. I know that HGI prides itself on their dial-adjustable mattresses, but I hated them. Perhaps it was operator error, but I had 2 beds in my room and tried both but could not get a comfortable mattress. They seem to sag in the middle so that by morning you are sleeping in a big dip with a back ache. I tried turning the dial up and turning it down with no effect, so to be honest I think I'll avoid HGI in the future because of theses dumb mattresses.
