First off, I didn't stay at the hotel, my fiance did, but I dropped by at about 4:30 AM to drop off a couple of sweaters for her and her mom, because it was cold in the mornings and they neglected to bring warm clothes.

I informed the clerk that I wanted to leave the sweaters at the front desk so my fiance could pick them up later that morning, and the clerk immediately and rudely replied "No!". I was stunned, not by the refusal so much but rather by the attitude. I asked why not, and she again was incredibly rude, saying "No!". At this point I getting upset myself, and asked again, and finally she replied, "I'm not taking responsibility for those!"

I wasn't dropping off a diamond watch god's sake (e.g. something small and valuable that COULD get lost), I was dropping off a couple of large, inexpensive SWEATERS!!

I've stayted at numerous hotels for both work and vacation, and this experience was the worst. I doubt management really cares though, because the hotel seemed to have a lot of patrons, a lot them people who had lost their home to bankruptcy (my fiance and her family included).

The last thing people need, when they recently lost their homes, or are in dire financial straights, is to have incredibly rude customer service.

I checked in around 10:00 p.m. on a Thursday night in August, after battling a major traffic accident on Hwy 12. I check in, and there's a sheriff's car outside my hotel door with some drunk and disorderly guests.

Across the parking lot are stacks of old mattresses and other debris--they were obviously remodeling. Beyond the mattress stack was a construction site. Already I'm thinking I've made a mistake.

I open the door--it's over 90 degrees. I turn on the air conditioner thermostat, and I get a small amount of air coming from a vent over by the bathroom. I turn on the light by the bed and sit on the bed. Within 5 minutes I have killed a variety of bugs, and some lucky ones crawled back under the box springs.

When I requested my money back and the phone number for the Hampton Inn down the road, the staff were quite congenial--apparently I wasn't the first person to complain.

Never ever stay at this hotel. The worst I have ever seen.

My fiance and I booked a room at this hotel when we were remodeling our bathroom. We have only one bathroom in our house and needed a place to shower and clean up while our bathroom was out of order. We did not sleep there, but we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room, the amenities and clean towels and prompt service. We requested more towels a few times and someone was always right there to give us new ones. The shower had great pressure and we quickly realized why we loved our showers there... the property has a water softner! Our skin felt great. The little soaps that they give you were good quality and smelled great too. All in all I recommend this hotel!!
