My husband and I stayed at The Secret Garden for the weekend. Loved every part of our stay. We were welcomed by a kind staff that made numerous recommendations on restaurants and local spots to visit. Loved the wine and cheese at 5pm, the late night desserts and the very delicious breakfast offered each morning. It was very relaxing, quiet and easy. A great option if you are visiting Santa Barbara and the local vineyards.

It's different from other similar places we have stayed in Santa Barbara closer to the water. This is a mixed neighborhood of houses and apartments. Dark at night. They have a cat in main house. Breakfast is included. We have a free standing small house. Comes with a private outside spa, which we did not try.
Quiet. They serve breakfast at 8:30 am but l like my coffee available when l wake up. Nice coffee shop near by that opens at 5:30am if you like to get your coffee early like l do. Mattress is a bit lumpy but not intolerable. Overgrown landscaping secluding the walk ways. Claw tub with funky curtain. Small living room.

Regular sized bedroom with a private bath. Clean and well kept. The queen size bed is comfy. The grounds are nice, service is friendly. There is a wine and cheese get together in the evening, nice. Very nice stay!

A very different B&B but refreshingly so after staying in impersonal hotels - much more home from home. We stayed in the Yellow House. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us and the house had a fully equiped kitchen. As we were staying mid holiday it gave us chance to catch up on our washing! Staying in the Yellow House also gave us a real feel of life in the subhurbs of Santa Barbara.
Breakfasts were excellent and we really enjoyed meeting and chatting to Dominique, Shelby and the other guests. This continued in the early evening when there was complimentary wine and appetizers.
A pleasant and relaxing stay.

I am a fan of old and funky type vacation rentals and this place looked great on-;line. Unfortunately there were many small problems causing this to not be worth the money. I stayed in the Oriole. We tried to check in 20 minutes early, but there is a strict 3:00 check in. Sadly, when we did check in the room and spa were still being prepped. All night I could hear pipes banging in the ceiling. The toilet was loose and moved around when I sat on it. The toilet handle kept sticking and allowing water to run. When I cam out to my car in the morning the tree covering the lot had dropped dozens of berries all over the car and I had to find a car wash to clean it up. The garden was mostly dead or very spindly and in neglect. This place has a lot of potential and just needs some TLC from the inn keeper.

Room tip: look for a stand alone cottage
