This was a very inexpensive hotel, so I didn't expect much. When you drive up at first, it might not seem like the best location, but I really didn't have any problems. I just made sure to take in any valuables. The room seemed pretty clean, at least much better than some other hotels I had stayed in recently. The wireless internet worked well, and I really didn't have too many complaints about the noise. I really didn't notice any from the roads. The continental breakfast was minimal.

Right on 101, tons of truck traffic 24/7, very noisy.
The second floor room had cigarette burns on the edges of all the furniture, the mini fridge didn't work, the rooms air was turned clear down and it was still hot, we heard another lady in the lobby complaining about that as well.
The lobby was clean and neat, desk help was nice, if you are going to Monterey stay somewhere else.

We stayed 1 night after coming from Santa Cruz beach, we were hungry, sleepy and in need of a shower, this place was everything and more then what we needed at the time! The price was perfect for us and room was clean. The next morning we had the complimantry breakfast which was just perfect for what we needed to start our day! Thanks for the lovely stay!

It was a clean, pleasant-looking, inexpensive motel. I arrived at 9:00 PM, asked for a restaurant referral, dropped my bags in my room, and went to dinner. I arrived back at Super 8 at 10:00 and discovered someone had been in my room and had gone through my things. I had taken everything of value with me, so as far as I know nothing was stolen. I called the front desk and the man who answered was fidgety and said he would call me back. He never did, and needless to say it was hard to sleep. The next morning I went to the front desk and spoke with the woman there. She acted surprised and said it wasn't possible because they had cameras. I asked if we could look at the tape. She said no. I wrote Motel 8 describing everything that had happened and still got no response. Everyone has completely ignored me. I think this is a very serious matter. I will think twice before ever staying at a Super 8 again.
