The vagabond inn is completely acceptable for a place to sleep. I stayed there for a weekend and had no problems. The room was clean, and well kept. The people at the front desk were kind and quick to help. We asked for extra towels and pillows and they came very quickly. The inn is right next to the freeway, but the sound from it was just dull white noise I don't think it would be a problem for anyone except maybe the lightest of sleepers. There was also working wireless internet in the rooms that was complimentary. Overall, the stay was great, convenient, and problem free.

being here at this hotel made it home away from home,The rooms were neatly prepared, the desk clerk was really helpful with information for each of our destinations as we vacationed here in salinas. It amazes me to see others review on how they did not like there stay. As a frequent traveler we all make reservations, within that time of making the reservation there are questions asked about the hotel from the price, to is the pool heated or not. I was waiting my turn to get checked in and this guest who was checked in by her reservation was complaining how much she was paying. When it comes to reservations each client has the right to choose either yes or no if they want to stay. This was a nice hotel, of course hwy 101 is right next to the hotel but why are they getting checked in if they already relize the freeway is right there. every hotel has its possitives and negatives. When I was checked in I looked for the friendliness of staff and the lobby being well cleaned. I recieved both so I would stay here again.

I stayed here because my reservation was lost at a hotel in Carmel, I am alost glad it was, since I saved a lot of money and still had a comfortable rest at the Vagabond Inn. I give it two thumbs up!

Hotel was nice. Easy check-in, located right next to the freeway, with no noise. Very near fast food restaurants and a few gas stations, seemed a prime location. After an extremely easy check-in, we parked right in front of our room which was about as close you could get to the pool. Unloaded our stuff and stepped in the room. Very nice sized room, everything seemed clean and fairly new-pretty bedspreads! Smelled horrible though, like someone had been smoking in it non-stop for a year or so even though it was a non-smoking room. 2 queen beds, TV, microwave and fridge. Bathroom worked really well. Note: Pool is NOT heated, was super cold and we couldn't use it. Very nice pool area though, with a Pepsi machine and many clean pool chairs. Hotel looked super clean in and out, though we did get the dreaded "black sock" disease while here. Wish I had went and bought a bottle of Febreze as the smell never abated. I didn't have a problem with the bed but my husband hated it and his pillow. Our room had it's own a/c and heater controls, but I think they are just for show as our room was very warm at all times. No screens on the window meant no breeze from outside as well. Hotel offered a continental breakfast but we didn't check it out, so nothing to say on that here. I might stay here again, if I brought a fan and some Febreze.
