You have to scale a recommendation in relation to cost, the higher the cost the more you expect to give a good score, the lower the price, the less you expect to award the same score. With that said, the Ridgecrest Motel 6 was 40 bucks for the night, less than half of most of the others in the area. Did I get half as much? No, it was a nice little, for the most part clean room with everything is good repair. The mattress was well worn, and the sheets thing and wrinkled. I could not vouch for the cleanliness of the exposed (not double sheeted) blanket and so I used my sleeping bag. The room numbering was the most odd thing, and myself and several guests took part in a hunt for my room as well as those they were looking for. But I slept fine, no realty problems, the bathroom was clean, and like I said for 40 bucks, not bad. Had it had a better bed, it would have gotten another star. I was on my way to do some exploration fun in the Panamints and it worked out fine. I’d go back.
