So after a very long day of driving I arrive at the Hampton Inn in Red Bluff and the Asst. GM Tess is taking care of another guest. She immediately smiles at me and recognizes my presence without missing a beat with the current guest. Now it is my turn. She greets me and emphasizes "welcome back". We have a nice conversation and she covers all the basis including a great recommendation for dinner. It was a rewards night for me and unlike others where rewards nights are a bother, she sincerely thanks me for my continuing patronage. I get in the room and she calls to make sure all is okay. In the room already is a personal note from the management and a bottle of water. I go to dinner and it is superb (Mexican by the way and I advise going there) It is so good I buy Tess a gift card for dinner and give it to her upon my return. My guess is that this is not the first time a guest has shown her appreciation for great service. The hotel is great and the people are even better. A little bit of niceness is welcome and never hurts! This place gets a hearty recommendation from this weary traveler.

When traveling to some of these smaller towns I am always weary of what to expect from local hotels so I was pleased to see a Hampton Inn as they are generally a consistent brand. I was blown away by what looks to be a new hotel (actually about 5 years old I was told). Rooms are spotless and well appointed with good lighting and plenty of outlets for laptops, cellphones, etc on the desk. The LCD television is on a swivel which makes it easy to see when working at the desk as well. There is a large breakfast area but they lose points (in my book) for putting the "business center" right out in the open and having only one computer and printer. -- That said, since this isn't an airport hotel and people aren't likely to be printing boarding passes I guess I can give them a pass.

Front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming even if she did not specifically recognize Hilton Honors status.

Hotel is walking distance from a strip-mall with a Starbucks and a few other quick restaurants. If they had van transportation to/from the Red Bluff airport I would have given then 5 stars. Thanks for a good stay and keep up the good work!!

We were told the hotel is just 6 years old. The decor is lovely, modern and high-quality. We stayed on the first floor in a busy part of the hotel (just steps from the fitness center and breakfast area) and heard no noise whatsoever, so the rooms are well soundproofed. Mattresses were SO comfortable that I wanted to take them home. Our room had a nice high ceiling, so though our 2 queen room may have been on the smaller side, it didn't have that claustrophobic feel some rooms can have. Fridge and microwave provided in-room. Hampton Inn serves cookies in the evening and has hot drinks and fruit out in the lobby at all times, as well as a tiny shop where you can buy snacks and conveniences. Every staff interaction was 5-star, including making reservations over the phone, checking in/out, and getting a toothbrush when one was forgotten. They should promote the blond gal who worked the front desk because she was simply spectacular!

Room tip: Ask for a room near the fitness center. So convenient for workouts and going to breakfast.
