I travel quite a bit every year and my husband travels every month overseas and back. This is one of the worst experiences we have had anywhere. We booked this hotel expecting a couple of days of relaxation from our everyday lives and to see the San Luis Obispo and the San Simeon area. We checked other hotels around the area but they were all booked. My husband and I reserved a king suite at this hotel with a pullout couch for our 13 year old daughter who was traveling with us. We specifically called Holiday Inn to confirm the pullout couch before making our reservation. We get to our room which was a LARGE one bedroom suite with a king sized bed and discover the couch is not a pullout couch. My husband immediately goes to talk to the person behind the front desk and he moves us into a room about half the size of the one we initially reserved. Of course the hotel was booked because of a horse show and soccer tournament happening on the same weekend. The hotel didn’t have any more rollaway beds available. Not to mention they charged us the same amount for the “mini”suite as they did the larger suite. Which was about $100 more than what they normally charge because of the events.
