“Fantastic gem of a Ranch Motel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

This is simply one of the BEST experiences we have ever had at motel, hotel or inn!

After having a rather uneventful stay at the local La Quinta, we drove by this motel on the way out of town. The motel shares its name with a 1940's Western Swing radio program "The Melody Ranch Round-up". (Google it- it is fantastic road music!) I crossed my fingers and turned the car around, hoping that I had found historic gem!

First of all, you are going to be charmed by this neat and tidy 1950's motel's wonderful owners! They are so kind and gracious! They take great pride in their motel and because they are local, they know the lay of the land and the name of every great steak house and shop owner! They gave us a brief tour. The rooms are immaculate! Nothing fancy, but spotless!

Upon returning to Paso Robles we booked here for 4 nights. (You can not beat the price!) They keep a careful watch over the Melody Ranch. They noticed when guests come and go... and you feel like they really care about you enjoying their town. You could not be in a safer place!

You can walk into town for meals or to shop, or visit the farmer's market. With all the money you will save by staying here, you can buy that case of wine you were eye'ing rather than just the bottle.

Room Tip: Just talk to the owners when you make your reservations- they seem to put up groups of friends clos...

“Its your basic motel, PLUS cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Stayed for 2 nights in December, you can't beat the price for the location. Not the most comfortable bed, and the sheets and blankets are kinda worn, but you get the room for a great price, and they give a AAA discount. This is a great place to stay if you're doing the tasting rooms in town, since there's no need to move your car. Lots of great places to eat in town as well. I'd definitely stay again...but maybe bring my own linens.

We arrived around 9pm and just needed a bed for one night. Melody ranch was perfect for our short stay: cheap, simple and clean. And that was all we needed. Very friendly receptionist. Within walking distance we had a choice of several restaurants.

“A Bargain”

I've driven by this place a number of times over the last 30+ years - but tonight is my first stay. I'm impressed - extremely clean - fun 1960's vintage. The bed feels fine. Great location. Very nice Italian restaurant next door. You're also at the center of town.
The young lady at the registration desk was very friendly and helpful. I'm sorry i waited so long to try this place!

“60's Style Motel & Good Rates”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

I spent a night at the Melody Ranch Motel on my way to San Diego. The rate was very reasonable, particularly when compared to other properties in Paso Robles. They are also listed in AAA. The lady who checked me in was very welcoming and pleasant. As others have described it is a 60's style motel that is well kept and, for the most part, quite clean. The two fabric chairs in my room could both have used some fabric cleaner. I would suggest that the owner give Stanley Steamer or another such outfit a call to give the upholstery a thorough cleaning. Other than that, the room, bath and linens were clean and fresh, the bed and pillows quite comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again at the Melody Ranch.
