The only thing good about the "motel" is the location and in this neighborhood there are many other nicer hotels to choose from. I don't think it has ever been renovated since it opened. The rooms are large everything is very dated. Doors that were supposed to be locked at night aren't. No secured parking. The housekeeping staff uses the pool table on the second floor to fold laundry and the pool area cabana for the employee break room. The balcony on the room is large except one of the doors to the balcony was broken.

The property and the staff were wonderful. I belong to an organization and we have a yearly conference. The property was wonderful and the rooms were neat and clean. Whenever my organization wants to hold a conference, in Palm Springs, we will be contact the Marquis Villa.

We stayed at marquis villas over 4th of july weekend and had a great time. The room was huge and very clean when we arrived. The location could not have been better, close to downtown and to highway 111. The only problem is that the housekeeping never came to our room until the last night we stayed.(4 nights and I had to request them to come.) Having a complete kitchen was great everything was updated. The only other complaint is that we had some college kids partying one night, which was fine but when they took the party to the balcony,(which was huge) you could hear everything. Our experience overall was great and would definitely stay there again.

In reading some of the reviews I find it difficult to believe that we were at the same resort as the people who had an unfortunate experience. As a senior professional with Government I have traveled extensively over the past 32 years staying in everything from small town motels to major city 5 star hotels and with well over 1,000 nights I've seen it all and hence feel well qualified to offer my observations.

Yes the MVR is need of updates but come on now, in this economy what company has the available resources to do this at this time? Want something more current and/or upscale then simply head out towards Palm Desert and be prepared to spend 3 or 4 times as much and be prepared to drive to virtually everything.

At the MVR we found everything to our satisfaction, I won't go into the spaciousness of the rooms - actually condos - as this is well covered in other reviews and eveyting in out suite functioned well and if you wanted to be your own chef everthing that you could possibly need was there right down to the blender for my wife's smoothies. We had none of the negative issues claimed by others, our room was clean and most comfortable, room service was discreet and efficient and accommodated our in and out schedule.

On to the rest of the resort, the pool and spa area wa spotless as was the towel and snack bar (Thank you Jose and Chris!) the lawns were tidy, the exercise room well equiped and a lovely salon for the ladies. The lobby is large and bright staffed by courteous and attentive individuals who were more than pleased to accommodate any request. I had opportunity to speak several times with the property's General Manager Nick Gronkowski who obviously cares about the satisfaction of his guests and is doing everything possible to make your stay a positive experience in a most professional manner.

The location was wonderful, I've been to Palm Springs and area more than a dozen times and it was great to not have to drive as everything that you wanted was less than a 5 minute walk. Is the MVR a 5 star resort, no. Is it a 5 star value, absolutely!!! I highly recommend the resort and call Nick first you'll be pleasantly surprised........
