This hotel is very old, dirty and stinky. The rooms on the third floor where we stayed are the types of rooms you see in a “flea-bag” motel, except for the size. The carpets are old, ripped and stinky. The beds are swayed. The blankets are the poorest quality. The furniture must be 50 years old, and never cleaned. The balcony floors are cracking and peeling. They are full of “sand”. The room we stayed in had ripped, very dirty carpets. The TV is so old and small with high bass which gave us a headache when we turned up the volume to hear the sounds. The one queen size bed is so warped. If you don't have a strong back, bring some Advil with you. The soap dispenser in the old dishwasher did not open during the wash, so we had to interrupt the dishwasher to open it manually. The closet and one of the elevators smelled like a dirty rabbit cage. The lights in the room are so dim except for the washroom.
The exercise room is so small and equipped with only one treadmill, one bike, one stair master that doesn't work properly and one weight machine. The entrance to this room is from the outside. There's no access from inside the hotel to this exercise room. The treadmill was often used. Sometimes we had to go down there 2 or 3 times to wait for our turns.
The chairs around the pool and the hot tub are as old as the building. They're old, dirty and broken. The water in the hot tub was not hot - not as hot as any other hot tubs we've used in other hotels or recreation centers.
There were only 2 old tennis rackets available for the 2 big courts. We asked the front desk staff if we should buy our own rackets, we were told that they would buy some new ones. Two, three days later, they still didn't get any new ones.
We decided to use the hotel barbecue to make some hot dogs because it was such a nice sunny day. To our disappointment, the barbecue stopped working half-way. The hotel staff was not able to fix it or tell us what was wrong with it. We assumed it ran out of propane, but the guy who appeared to be trying to fix it didn't say a word when i asked him. Not sure if he has English language barriers or .....??
The housekeeping service was very poor. They twice knocked on the door before 10:00am to come in when the Do Not Disturb sign was there. When we asked them to come back in an hour, they never came back. We frequently had to call for kitchen supplies, like soap, dish towels, coffee, and cooking pots, because the cleaners would not supply them and did not understand when we asked. The roll-away bed was made only 20% of the time we were there. One time, they made one of the beds only half-way. The bed cover was still on the floor. Another time we returned to our room at night and found the balcony door was left wide open. We brought our concerns to the manager, but he told us that this hotel is for time shares and said the housekeepers weren't even supposed to provide any service. He seemed to be seriously confused that we're not a time share. We booked the hotel and paid a daily rate. As a manager you'd think he would know the difference.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
