The service was good. The room was exceptionally clean. We were in the Dr. Hart Suite which was lovely except the wallpaper will give you a headache after a few days. It was walking distance to many places. We walked to Monterey Bay Aquarium/Cannery Row & Dinner at Pacific Thai Cuisine (1 blk away) was excellent. What I liked least was carrying all my own bags upstairs, sometimes NO parking is available nearby and it was a tad pricey. Best part was LOCATION, clean, safe and fun!!!! I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to everyone who likes B&B's.

I'm not sure if I was influenced by the previous review by Mjolinar. I've been hunting for interesting B&B's (on the lower-price side) and Gosby House, while fulfilling the attractiveness on the outside, did not quite deliver the B&B spirit. Maybe that's natural because it's sort of a "chain".
All the beautiful "shells" of B&B were there: beautiful victorian house, quaint if a bit tired, comfy bed and cute room, coffee and cookies and sherry, very hospitable staff, even provided a little book of Pacific Grove history. But somehow I just didn't feel it. I felt like more in a hotel. The stay wasn't too memorable.

Some details: Breakfast was interesting but not the best, there was a rush hour where guests crowded waiting for the staff to fill up empty trays. The cookie jar wasn't there the whole day either -- something I especially enjoy at B&B's. The location was nice but you'd need to find your own street parking. The bath robe was not comfy enough for me to want to wear it. By the way, we did catch some very late night dessert up a few blocks in a nice restaurant.

Also, I called and got a same-day rate for $105, which was pretty nice. For the regular price though not sure if I'd choose here again.

We found this place to be nothing special - typical B&B with kitschy faux-antiques and garish wall-paper. We had the most expensive room in the place yet it had an old carpet and the "TV" was a little computer monitor. The breakfast was buffet style and servicable but not memorable. All in all, kind of tired feeling, but maybe I am through with the whole B&B aesthetic. This is a large institution with at least 4 buildings (although, to be fair, it still feels like a neighborhood B&B).

On the positive side, the beds had top quality soft sheets, there was a gas fireplace in the room (which kept going off on its own), and the location is central and very handy. The staff were nice.

What a delightful hotel. We arrived to wine and nibbles in front of a roaring fire. Bliss!
The rooms are gorgeous and the bed was sooo comfortable. Nice buffet breakfast. Lovely little courtyard garden to sit out in. Lots of nice nearby restaurants (recommend the Thai a few doors away).

Don't visit if you can't take chintz.. I loved the place but the girly decor and teddy bears everywhere freaked my macho hubby! Guys - take the missus if you want to impress cos its very romantic but don't go on your own or with your mates.Definitely not aimed at blokes.

The evening social and the turn down service were really nice touches. The staff were helpful but unintrusive. Parking free and on street but plenty of it.

We would definitely book a Four Sisters Inn again based on this experience.
