My family and I just spent a week here on our annual Disneyland trip. (2 adults, 4 kids). We chose this hotel over all the others we considered and even paid a little more specifically because it offered the outdoor pool. Coming from cold weather, we wanted to play outside in the warm. We figured because it was the Hilton it would be great. WRONG! When we checked in to our room we found it average, but definitely not the Hilton we were expecting and not worth the extra Hilton prices. There is one dresser which isn't enough space to put everything you need for 6 people. The door to our room was falling apart and didn't close well. We found it sitting open a few times and had to pull it really hard to get it to even shut. My 4 and 6 years olds were not even strong enough to close the door. The bathroom door had a big crack in it like someone kicked it in and the bathroom shower had mildew and rust all over. The shower head was icky too. I am attaching pictures....eeew. We arrived a day early to give us a day to play in the pool and settle in. You can imagine our disappointment when we discovered that the outdoor pool was closed. We just discovered that there is a message on their website that the pool will be closed, but we did not book through their website so we had no idea. Major bummer. The inside pool was open, and we made do, but not after a serious conversation about checking out of the mildew room and finding another hotel. After our trip to the pool we went up to shower. It was then that I noticed the shower, and also that we only had 4 towels, which is also not ok with 6 people in the room. I went down to the front desk to ask for more towels. I was told that they would have them sent up. I asked if he knew about how long it would be because there were already people in the shower. He looked down at the pad of paper in front of him and started counting whatever he had written and said, "Well it's going to be a while because there are, 5, 6, 7, 8.... 8 rooms in front of you that have just requested towels." I was disenchanted with his response and asked, "So can I pick some up somewhere? Because I have people showering at this moment." He sighed and told me no, that was not possible but he would let house keeping know. Not happy, super not happy. Perhaps if there are that many guests requesting towels, they will learn to leave at least one for every guest registered in the room. Just a thought.
It is hard to find a hotel that will allow 6 people in the room so if that is your biggest dilemma, this hotel will at least accommodate you there. Two of you, however, will wake up with back problems from the springs that poke you in the night on the fold out couch bed. I'm not exaggerating, you can literally feel the springs in the mattress. We put the mattress on the floor to try to make it tolerable but it's just a terrible mattress. I think I expected more from the Hilton. I've stayed there in Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. so I expected a Hilton experience. We were much more comfortable at the Best Western the night before. There is one sports grill next door, but other than that, you better not be hungry after you get back to the hotel because there isn't anything within walking distance other than the $3 juice and $4 bag of snacks downstairs. You can drive to Wendy's or Target within 5 minutes, but if you're just looking for something close it's not there.
I will say however that the restaurant staff is great. They are more than accommodating and Karin is especially wonderful. They were kind to my children and let me take a couple of extra yummy croissants for the road. :)
