This made for a great time. My husband and I went last Wednesday for their 2 pm tour, and we were the only customers, so we got our own private tour with Mitchell and Will. They fitted us with our harnesses, safety hats, and gloves, gave us the safety spiel and basic ziplining techniques, and let us do a few practice tries on the low zipline at the visitor center before jumping in the truck to head up to the first zipline. It was a little nerve-wracking taking the plunge off the first platform, but by the third zipline I felt pretty much at ease. Also, their safety procedures are very good, and you are hooked to the ziplines the whole time via two carabiners, so there is really no chance of falling to your death or anything. Even if you fell off one of the platforms up in the trees, you wouldn't go far. I was glad that we had our own private tour though. There are as many as 8 people on a tour plus the two guides, and I would think that would make it super crowded on the platforms. So try to get on a less crowded tour if you think you'll be nervous. The booking site tells you how many people have signed up for a particular tour already. Anyway, our tour went pretty quick since there were only the two of us, but I think there were 6 or so ziplines, a winding staircase up the trunk of one redwood, one or two swinging bridges between redwoods, and the final descent was an 80-foot rappell from the last platform, which was really fun. Mitchell and Will were very knowledgeable about the trees, and they also gave us some good tips on other fun things to do in the area. If you're not afraid of heights, are not pregnant, and have a sense of adventure, give it a try! It was a lot of fun. If you are afraid of heights, however, you will be terrified. They can lower you down to the forest floor if you freak out, but note that that will probably also terrify you. So just make sure you know yourself before you sign up.
