“Closest You Can Get to Flying -- Exhilarating!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

My teenage daughter and I have been celebrating our birthdays together by treating ourselves to special outings for several years. This is by far the best one yet!

There are eight ziplines to complete, including a 175 foot sky bridge suspended between the trees. At the end, you rappel 80 feet down to the forest floor. Our guides were professional and friendly and kept us laughing through the tour. It's just amazing being hundreds of feet up in the redwoods! Although you can feel the trees sway a bit, you're always hooked on safely with strong cables. You start with short zips and work your way up to the longest at 800 feet. The highest one is 300 feet above a steep ravine -- better not to think about that while ziplining and just enjoy the views of the ancient redwoods!

I recommend using the leather gloves over the cloth ones because you have to use your hands to slow yourself down when coming in to land. The ones with a hole in the pointer finger are great for taking pictures. Bring two cameras if you can so you can take pictures of your friends and vice versa. They attach your camera to your harness by its strap so it's hard to share. Also, don't take anything up there (glasses, wallet, keys) that might fall out of pockets while zipping among the trees.

I wouldn't recommend this if you have a paralyzing fear of heights, but many people work through their fears doing these kinds of things. We had one lady on our tour who wanted to conquer her fear of heights and she did great. You feel like you've really accomplished something when you get through. We also had an older couple in their 60's join us. There is some climbing and pulling involved, so you want to make sure you have some stamina but most anyone can do it.

It's just crazy fun!

“Beautiful, safe, exiting and educational all at once!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

This company is welcoming with a well trained staff that has "you" as their first priority. It was my first time on a zip line and the experience is one I hope to repeat. I also know what to look for in the next company I zip line with because of the safety measures taken as well as the construction and maintenance of this company's equipment. This is a "must do" for anyone interested in seeing the California Redwoods from a very different perspective!

“Dared to do it and so glad we did, pure fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

We were out on the Zip Line WOW we had a blast it was 2.5 hours of pure fun. James and AJ were our guides they were funny and yet very safety conscious. I watched later the new groups “in training” and I was thankful we had our guides. AJ said if we had questions to just ask he didn’t want to bore us or overwhelm us with facts but he would try and give us info if requested. When we peppered him with questions he gave answered most of them with a quick wit. The shortest zip was 200 ft and the longest just over 800.

My friend J told me later that she was scared and forced herself to zip and I only did it because of her but I am so glad we did. The scariest thing to me was the end when you had to walk on the bridge and then leap over the side to rappel down

The hardest part was the rappel down; it made my back sore and really hurt J’s. That is my only negative on this. They need to emphasize that you need to sit and keep your back straight at the end.

I was told my laughter rang out when I zipped and it made everyone smile. It was that much fun. I would highly recommend this for all ages if you can walk and have a little gumption you will enjoy this.

The scenery was beautiful.

“Fun adventure in the coastal redwoods!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

This was our second time. We brought out-of-town friends. Just as before, the staff is very friendly and make the whole experience very enjoyable. The guides are very professional and a lot of fun.

They take safety seriously- if you're afraid of heights, this is one way to work through it. It seems very liberating for some. Zip lines, suspension bridges, staircase, and repelling- all in a beautiful setting in the coastal redwoods of Occidental. We'll keep coming back and can't wait for new zip lines to open!!!
