The hotel has a good location if you have a car: halfway between downtown Monterey and Carmel, so quick to get to either for dinner or touring, and right off Rte. 1, 5 min from the airport. Hotel is clean, average size rooms, all necessary amenities with flat-screen tvs (just standard channels), dvd player and free (albeit at times slooow) wi-fi in rooms. Nothing exceptional and nothing horrible. The only problem in our block (we had room 219) was a deafening noise, like a truck starting over your head, that would come on and off at various times; wasn't bad in the bedroom, as the noise from the ac/heating unit drowned it out, but pretty startling in the bathroom. While the rooms with a view toward Monterey may seem more desirable, the hotel is over a busy intersection and thus I'd suggest the rooms in the back, facing the woods, for a quieter stay.
