The Magic Castle Hotel was the first stop in our recent visit to the US and we can do nothing but agree with all the other superlatives stated in the many, many great reviews of this hotel that precede ours.

We arrived early in the morning after a long and uncomfortable flight from Melbourne. We were greeted by the lovely Lisa on reception who spent a significant amount of her time providing us with everything we could possibly need (including umbrellas as it was pouring rain outside) to pass the time until our room was ready.

The room was a one-bedroom suite and although not necessarily high end in it's decor, it was well appointed, spotlessly clean, very spacious and had one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in for a while.

The location of the hotel is perfect for a stay in Hollywood, close to the action but an oasis of calm to return to at the end of each day.

Enough cannot be said about the amazingly personal customer service at The Magic Castle Hotel ... special mention to Lisa and Nick whose tips, recommendations & information made our stay so comfortable. Many finer/larger establishments could learn a tip or two from these guys!

Finally, to anyone staying at this hotel I would also suggest a visit to both Yamoshira (the Japanese restaurant at the top of the hill) and to the Magic Castle itself, both highlights of our stay in LA in their own rights.

In real estate it's all about position position position. When traveling its all about Service Service Sevice and Magic Castle has both. The staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough for you and go out of their way to make your holiday easier. We stayed 3 nights went skiing for 5 nights then returned for another 2 nights. We were really looking forward to returning as it felt like home. Not only did they store some of our bags (no charge) when we returned there was a thank you note and a little gift from the management. Every morning they asked about our plans and next thing they had maps, timetables & journey plans for us. The location, just one block away from the walk of fame, Kodak theatre, metro station, etc, was perfect and the unit style rooms mean you have plenty of space. The free drinks and snacks were always appreciated and the continental breakfast was perfect. They made my son's day when he asked if they had Vegemite and of course they did. Very highly recommend, wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I expected a hotel and found myself in a really roomy apartment. The place looks like a retro apartment building. Pool in the middle and rooms all around with balcony.

The staff here are just great. They greet you with a complimentary drink and snack. In the evening they bring chocolates to your room with the next days weather report. You call down or ask the desk for anything and they bend over backwards.

Rooms are large with dining table, kitchen and lounge as well as separate bedrooms. Plenty of cupboard space. This place is ideal for the longer stay or for families. I was there for work and found it perfect.

You are right in the heart of Hollywood and in walking distance to everything - even the train. Plenty of restaurants in the area or a short cab fare away.

The place is not slick and modern but it is comfortable and welcoming. Its also great value. I will be back.

Great choice. The location was perfect and central to everything. Great place to stay for tourists as it is only one street back from Hollywood boulevarde. Short train ride to Universal Studios. We quite often approached hotel staff when we needed help with directions, bookings, etc and nothing was ever a problem. The rooms were very big and clean (we stayed in a one bedroom apartment), beds were comfortable. Endless supply of free drinks and snacks on hand whenever required. They woudl even deliver them to the room for you. Breakfast was continental - wide variety of cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread with spread, cakes etc. Highly recommended.
