“Kenny You Rock”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I'm not sure what some people expect from a hotel but from some of the comments far too much. The only negative was the bathroom is a bit too small and the door too close to the bed. That said it was clean, comfortable beds & pillows while the staff were amazingly helpful & enthusiastic. My wife, daughter & self were lucky to have had our luggage taken up to our room by "Kenny." He asked if we had stayed before & had we any plans. Then he drew the blinds & proceeded to point out, supermarket for food. Tell us where and best ways for buses for shopping, Santa Monica, walk to Rodeo drive and much more. All his tips were gold. Good location for all places, short cab into Hollywood, buses to Santa Monica & shopping at Beverley Central (another good tip from Kenny) Thanks to all as this was our last hotel after 5 weeks in the USA from Australia. 10/10 to the staff 12/10 for Kenny.

Dear Wayne B:

Thank you so much for your kind review of our hotel as well as Kenny, our bellman! We know how hard he works to make guest's stay enjoyable as well as his vast knowledge of the area. I'll make sure he gets your kudos!

We know how exhausting a long travel can be, and I am glad we were able to end your trip on a positive note. Our Sleep Advantage Program helps guests relax while staying with us; and our central location and easy public transport access helps guest's explore at their own leisure.

Thank you again for your wonderful review! We understand our guests have high expectations, and we do our best to not only meet their expectations but beat them!

Warmest regards,

Dear Melleasa:

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of our property...again! I took a look at your first review, and I'm glad the second time around you found your stay worthwhile. A lot has changed during the course of the year, and I hope that reflected positively between your 2 stays.

We know how expensive it can be to travel, and our staff are all here to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. If there's anything we can do to make your stay more pleasant, do not hesitate to let us know!

We're so glad we had the opportunity to serve you again a second time around. We sincerely hope to see you again in 2013 (just around the corner!) and to make that stay the best yet!

“Couldn't have been better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza at Beverly Hills for 5 days at the end of January 2012. It was my first time traveling anywhere, ever and I was by myself. When the staff member at the front desk heard this, he upgraded me to a king executive room on the top floor with compliementary breakfast everyday I was there! I think his name was Denis, he was so friendly and very helpful, an asset to the hotel.
The room itself was pretty good, the bed and pillows were great, very comfortable. The only minor downside was the occupied adjoining room, I could hear them and I'm sure they could hear me. No big bother though as they weren't very noisy anyway. Bathroom was standard. Great big screen tv's.
Concierge was very helpful and friendly, booked a hop on/hop off tour through Darryl which was great.
Hotel seems to be full of aussie's which is good as I had people to talk to.
Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! It couldn't have been a better experience!
Overall would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!

Room Tip: Try to get a free upgrade! I had room 1201 which had a good view but was right near the fire stairs...

Dear Lausie25:

Thank you so much for not only your kind review but detailed description of your stay! It's a pleasure to get detailed feedback as this helps us monitor our operations more efficiently.

We do not always have the luxury of upgrading all of our guests, but when we have the opportunity, we're always happy to do so - especially for first time travelers! Our goal is to make every guest's experience unique, memorable, and personable; and I'm thrilled your stay couldn't have been better!

We encourage all of our staff to "Own the Wow!" and I'll make sure both Dennis and Daryl are rewarded for it.

Thank you again for your review! I hope all of your future travels are equally as memorable!

“It's okay - If you drive in the states!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

If you're an international traveller, this hotel is not for you. All the feautures such as shopping centres, downtown, the beach, hollywood boulevard, are around 15-20 mins drive to get to. I can't imagine how much time it would take by bus or how much in cab fare and time lost it would take to get to Santa Monica Beach to Hollywood Boulevard.

If you are an American tourist, I found this spot to be central to any of the locations above.

Pros:

The reception/concierge were friendly. They fedExd me my Hugo Boss suit I left behind (to Australia at my cost) however I lost my brand new Gucci ring there. :-(

My view, room 624 was of the car park. Not pretty.

They had smoking rooms.

Bus stop in front of hotel and I always saw a taxi on standby.

Citibank building and atm next door.

Dry cleaner/Self
Laundry shop about 2 blocks away.

Cons:

Valet parking attendant sometimes goes MIA.

Room & decor was very outdated. Not reflective on the price per night.

Room service closed early. Not open all night.

Not much variety of restaurants within walking distance close by.

Dear 2niteshow:

Thank you for your review. I actually really enjoyed your format and would like to take the opportunity to go over some of your pros and cons.

Many of our guests are indeed international travelers. We have guests from all over the world, and I believe it makes our hotel both unique and interesting. We understand to many of our guests, it is us who drive on the wrong side of the road! :)

As a whole, Los Angeles is a very, very spread-out city. Fortunately, the heart of Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive are within walking distance of our property. However, the other major attractions of Los Angeles such as Universal Studios, the Santa Monica Pier, Staples Center, Hollywood Blvd, etc are not walking distance. And that would be true of any hotel within walking distance to any of those attractions.

That being said, we a very centrally located in-between all the major attractions - despite them not being walking distance. I can surely state Santa Monica Beach and Hollywood Blvd are roughly a 30 minute commute from our property. And as you astutely observed, we have many bus stops in our area; and if there isn't a taxi readily available, a simple phone call will get one to our property in less than 15 minutes. We also offer a private town car service for those who are interested.

Thank you for pointing out several items I have not address (or thought of). Our room service is only open from 6am - 11pm. We do not offer room service overnight as most of our guests would rather a good night's rest.

Our smoking floor, the 6th floor, does not have much of a view unless you are on the odd number side which has a beautiful view of some of downtown Century City. We are one of the few hotels that still offers smoking rooms. Though most of our guests prefer non-smoking rooms, we at least want to offer the option to those who would prefer a smoking room.

Thank you again for your comments and review. We greatly appreciate our guests sharing their experience with other potential guests!

Warmest regards,

Riley Wood

“average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Overall a bit of a let down. Pretty average room and a very long walk to anywhere. Rodeo Drive approximately 45min walk at normal speed. Non of other attractions nearer than a cab ride away. Infact it was cheaper to hire a car for the day to get to universal studio's. No way could anyone walk to Hollywood Boulevard or Sunset Strip. My advice is get an hotel nearer the top end of town.

Dear pazzags,

Thank you for your comments and allowing me an opportunity to respond.

The start of Rodeo Drive is only a mere 15 - 20 minute walk from our hotel. I have walked it several times myself and can say that with absolute certainty. That being said, our street, Beverly Drive, offers an array of shopping and restaurants along the way! It's certainly possible to visit many of these attractions and have the walk to Rodeo Drive be longer.

We are proud to offer a private town car service we work with for those who do not have a vehicle of their own. Public transportation is also a convenient and economical means for travel as well. Truthfully, we are very centrally located in the Los Angeles area. The travel time between Santa Monica and Universal Studios can easily be two hours depending on traffic. Fortunately, we are located right between the two as we are to many of the major Los Angeles attractions!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us on Trip Advisor. We greatly appreciate the comments, as well as the opportunity to respond and clarify for many of the readers.

Warmest regards,

Riley Wood
