“Not that bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2008

We were about to visit a friend in the NOHO-area and he recommended this as the most valuable around. The area feels quite uncomfortable at night but at day it´s fine. The room were clean and had two good beds.
The check-in was quick but not very welcoming. A big secure-glass-desk makes you wonder and the staff was not interested in anything but taking care of business.
Don´t even bother to take notice of the "breakfast". It´s some plastic-packed old looking danish and coffee. (I recommend the Magnolia Grille (Magnolia Blvd) instead).

If you are looking for a place to sleep at, it´s all right. Nothing to spend the day time at in other words.

“A place to avoid!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2007

Stayed here at a friends recommendation. He'd done research and said that the reviews weren't bad. He lives in the area and he's had no problems. The other reviews are correct in that the service staff is not at all friendly. Bulletproof glass at the check in desk doesn't make one feel safe. Multiple cameras on property though. The room was mostly clean, needed a through cleaning. When I pulled back the bedspread it had cigarette burns in a "Non-Smoking" room and the sheets felt as though they had crumbs in them. The air conditioner went from somewhat normal noise levels to clicking and clanking and back again all night. The door didn't seal up and light could be seen coming in from top to bottom. The bathroom had ants, the toilet was cracked and the bathroom floor was filthy. Our 2 1/2 year old was on his first vacation, we stayed in Las Vegas and at the Howard Johnson's by Disneyland, he liked both hotels as did we, but when we returned from dinner and attempted to settle into our room he cried and wanted to leave, clearly upset by the place. I'd made the mistake of reserving three nights, at $132.00 a night w/tax, but we only stayed one. The policy is "No Refunds", but I'm going to call Visa and attempt to get the charges reversed for the two nights we didn't stay.
If all the hotels you're interested in are booked solid, then you might consider the Colony Inn, as for me, Never Again!

“reminds you of a hotel in a horror movie”

This is the worst place ever. It's not a hotel, it's a motel. Our bare feet turned black after about 10 minutes on the carpet so we wore shoes at all times when inside our room. Our suite had a bathroom that was so small that the sink didn't fit in there so they placed it on the outside of the bathroom in the seating area next to a cherub statue if that paints a pretty good picture of the decor of this room. We were told that we would have television stations that we didn't have. The plug in the phone kept falling out, so we had to hold in place when using the phone which we did alot because we were there with a dance competition team. The suite was 175.00 per night which is very reasonable for a room of it's size, but with all of the problems...no way. Also, had no closet, just a rack mounted to the wall out in the seating area. The cleaning people turned off our air conditioner everyday when it was 100 outside. I asked them not to turn it off and was told that they had to becuase if all the air conditioners were left on during the day, the curcuit breakers would blow. I'm going to call visa and see about a refund. We didn't check out when we realized what a dump this place was because we didn't know where else we could go and had several families checked in. Plus we had to be able to get to our venues and the motel was situated close to them. That's about the only positive thing that I can say about our entire 7 day stay. I have pictures of the kids black feet and the room conditions which I will post when they are developed. Take it from me, there's an Embasy Suites right down the road for 75.00 per night and it's beauatiful. Found this out later. Also Colony Inn has no pool. What a dive!

“Good For the Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2006

I put my Mom up here because it was walking distance to my place and shes alergic to cats and couldn't stay with me. We figured it was ok to get a cheap room, since she wouldn;t be in there much. It was ok for the price. It had a small couch that had some stains, and the room smelled like Mr. Clean. The bed wasnt the best, and the floor didnt appear to be vacumed. After a call to the desk, we came back to a very clean room. I would suggest it for those on a budget, but not for th ose who would spend much time in the room.

“Very good rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2006

Very good clean rooms and well lit free parking. If that's what you need, this motel is fine. But be aware that it is located in a seedy section of town, with mundane motel type grounds. Free continental breakfast is low end. Desk staff is efficient, but not particularly friendly.
