We just returned home from our trip to Hollywood.
Check I'm was a breeze, staff were very friendly.
Our room was very large, comfy bed and couch, partial view of the Hollywood sign. Bathroom was clean and a standard HIE bathroom.
The breakfast was fantastic with good choices. It was always nice and clean and quiet in there(we were early risers).
Checkout was fast and easy as well.
The valet staff were great. However we were charged $22 a day yet the sign outside said $20 a day. We didn't realize until we got home. But $8 isn't much to fuss over.
The location kinda seems "sketchy" but after wandering around West Hollywood, the whole place seems that way. However we never had an problems. So that in no way is HIE fault.
Overall we had a fantastic stay and fantastic staff. If we were to go back we would stay there or another HIE.

Usually it's not very easy to say something special about the chain hotel, like Holiday Inn Express Hotel, because it's absolutely predictable words. Yes, it was very clean, yes the staff was helpful and stay was very pleasant. Free WiFi and car parking are also available in the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. But! In this hotel the main advantage is the location. It's the middle between Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Walk of Fame.
If you are going to visit the concert in Hollywood Bowl you definitely need to stay in this hotel, because it's the best place to stay and to park your car. The only one thing I need to mention is the noise from the road, especially during the concert in Hollywood Bowl, because thousands of people are pass by the hotel.
So in general it's a good place to stay for few days in LA.

we stayed here end of December 2010 and it was brilliant. We had a family suite and it was ridiculous value, so well priced we were expecting very average and got incredible value. The location is within walking distance to walk of fame, all of the attraction ie wax museum, world records ect, the hollywood home tours bus stops, so many eating places and brilliant shopping centre, you couldnt get a better location that felt safe to walk to and from. We enjoyed a complimentary bkfst each morning and it did the job, good eggs, bit of carb, yoghurt, juice and maybe a fruit so anyone having a whinge just cant be pleased with much, i quote complimentary and the lady that runs the breakfast room is so efficient, keeps the room tidy and clean and nothing is too much trouble she is a gem. All the staff made us feel so wecome and looked after a treat, so if we are ever in Hollywood again this is the place for us, oh and quick walk and train to Universal Studio, toooo easy...

My sister and I booked this hotel based on TA reviews for a brief, 24 hour trip to Hollywood. Manny at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. The room was very basic, no frills but adequate. The heating/AC unit in our room made an irritating noise all night, but the beds were comfortable. The hot breakfast was great and the valet called a taxi for us to get a ride back to Union Station. The hotel is convenient to a number of shopping and dining establishments at the Hollywood/Highland Mall and is only a half mile from the Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, etc. Very convenient!
