I stayed one night, Nov. 17, 2011, and it was the worst hotel stay in my entire life. Even though I had booked it in advance, no one had bothered to warm up the room from the freezing 50 degrees inside the room. The absolutely inadequate and antiquated floor heater took all night to take the chill off. I was reduced to warming myself with my blow dryer, and ended up sleeping in my clothes and there was no way I could take a shower. Also, the water there smells very offensive! Like the bottom of a well. This place should be closed by the health department and isn't worth $10, let alone the $90 they charged me!!! Just keep driving south to Bishop and stay there, that's my recommendation.

A friend and I recently stayed for two nights at the Lake View Lodge. We had two separate rooms but similar experiences. Both had to do with the lack of hot water in the shower and the inadequate response of the staff. After the first night we complained and the manager told us that the maintenance person would take care of it. When we came back that evening we were told that the problem had been taken care of. The next morning, same situation, no hot water. When we complained again at check-out, the clerk said that there was nothing she could do about it. I think some discount on the bill was in order, but it obviously isn't part of their policy. I won't stay there again. In addition, the ceiling in the dressing area was coming down from water leaks.

I used the Lakeview Lodge as a stopover. I came from Vegas and I was on my way to SF and wanted to see Yosemite.

The place is fine. It is a little overpriced for what it is but then so is everything in Lee Vining.

I got a 'cozy cottage' based on recommendations from others here on Trip Advisor. It was really cute. No view at all. But very cute, and seemed like it was quite new.

I arrived at night, and there is no lighting at all around the cottages and they are next to people's houses. It was kinda scary. The hotel should have turned the lights in the cottage on for me pre arrival. I couldn't see a thing.

The service is average. They could have been nicer to me. But I didn't care. It's just a room.

The wifi is dreadful. It only works in reception and even in there it's dodgy.

Average at best. But you probably won't find anything better in Lee Vining. It's a lovely little town and the drive from there through the Tioga Pass is beautiful.

We had a group of 11 that stayed for 2 nights in July-11 and had a very good stay. We had 4 of the standard motel rooms. The rooms are dated meaning they could use updating, but were will maintained and clean. The rooms were large and each had coffee makers, frig, etc. The grounds around motel are very nice with plenty of tables, benches, etc to take advantage of Mono lake views. The staff was friendly and helpful with our group.

Overall good, clean motel accommodations.

If you visit Lee Vining, I highly recommend that you eat at the 'Mobil Mart' restaurant in the Mobil station justs up the road. The food is gourmet, run by a former chef at Mammoth lakes. You won't be disappointed.
