Spent one night at Hampton Inn while on a motorcycle road trip to Las Vegas. On the plus side, it's very new, very clean, and staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
It is, however, on the outskirts of town by the ballfield, so you'll have to drive to get to restaurants and entertainment.
Two peeves: I needed a quick shower before heading out to dinner but the head refused to do anything but dribble. Room maintenance did take about 30 minutes to replace it, explaining that they'd had several fail. The man was friendly, but that didn't change the fact that i was late for a dinner appointment.
Secondly, the wi-fi code is changed every week and it was my misfortune to come on a changeover day. Took 45 minutes for the morning clerk to figure out how to re-connect the system. Not good when you have to check business emails early in the morning.
Finally, the breakfast buffet was ample,(hot items like scrambled eggs and ham, etc) but the cook stood chatting to a friend about their menopause difficulties three feet from me while I collected my toast. Are guests invisible when important details like Estrogen patches need to be discussed?
I'll give the hotel a break until staff settles in--and no complaints with the great king bed--but at best it only rates a C.
