“most favorite place to stay in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have been all over the world and this place is one of my favorites. The amazing breakfast in the courtyard, the relaxing pool that has private patios as well as lounges poolside, the spa the rooms - I can't say enough about this place. It is worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and stay here - you will not regret it!

“We loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We recently spent four days at the Kenwood Inn & Spa and were treated like royalty. The staff saw to our every need, especially Lynn, Marcia, Misty, and Steve in the restaurant/wine bar area. The breakfast itself is a work of art every morning and at times it looked to beautiful to eat. (although I must say we gave in.) We traveled with another couple and commented several times how it felt like we were being pampered as if we were the only people staying there, although we werent.
The lack of television in the room did not prove to be a negative at all, in fact, it was quite refreshing to "unplug" from our busy and hectic lives. When you walk into the room, you are greated with soothing classical or jazz music coming from the wall speakers which you can adjust or turn off in the main area as well as the bathroom. The traffic from the road is a little distracting, but not overbearingly so--we compensated for this by simply playing a "white noise" app from our smartphone which we are accustomed to listening to at home anyway. We loved our stay from beginning to end at the Kenwood Inn & Spa, and certainly plan on returning.

“3 night splurge”

We wanted to do a wine country splurge and, after much research, decided to book at Kenwood Inn and Spa. We're very glad we did! The room we booked was beautiful, but we somehow got an upgraded into one of the top rooms at the inn. It was huge, had a fantastic view, an enormous bathroom, lots of sitting area space, great fireplace, overall just superb. The restaurant was really nice and intimate. We got wonderful service and really nicely done food. The breakfasts were standout-----small plates of three different items like eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon, super-delicious beef hash, a different selection each day. The ambiance in the separate bar was especially warm, helped along by the fireplace. The spa area was quite nice, especially the warm fireplace room where we had a nice glass of prosecco to precede our massage. Overall, a super three day splurge!

Room Tip: The rooms toward the back are quieter, as the inn is close to the highway. Even though our room was...

“What a great 16th Wedding Anniversary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

It is hard to top some of the great reviews already written about KIS, but I will give it a try! This place was such a pleasant surprise. We arrived on the actual day of our 16th wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised as the view and ambiance was better than we expected. We felt like we were checking into someones home and not a hotel. Micah at the front desk was so very helpful and had Champagne in our room. I sincerely say that from the maids to the spa personnel to the restaurant staff the service was beyond excellent.

As far as amenities go, they have it all fountains, fireplaces, music, great bedding and linen, lighting decor etc, we felt like we were back in Italy! The food and restaurant was super and much better than we had expected being that they only cater to guests and not to anyone outside of the hotel. The food was delicious and elegantly presented.

Our Spa treatment and experience was also a pleasant surprise. We have been pampered in Hawaii and other exotic places, but I think this tops them all. Accommodating, kind, healing, relaxing, and great value all come to mind.

All throughout our stay we kept saying that we cannot wait to come back! Thanks KIS for making our 16th anniversary one to always remember.

Room Tip: I do not think there is a bad room in the place!

“Quirky”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We stayed at Kenwood for a 3 day escape from SF during the holidays. Our overall impression is that it was good, but not great.
Arrival: greeted at the front desk by unenthusiastic woman. She told us to park our car and carry our luggage to our room. No offer of help. Bad first impression.
Rooms: A little rustic and very Italian/simplistic. Dirty carpet. Big fireplace. The bathroom was old. Bed very comfortable. As you can tell, pros and cons.
Restaurant / wine bar: The food is the best part about the Kenwood Inn. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all fantastic.
Spa: good, but not great
The food and the staff in the restaurant and wine bar make the place. Without them, it would be a very, very average hotel. The rooms are ok and the level of service in the front office is pretty much non-existent. The whole experience had a very quirky feel.
I can't imagine booking to stay here again.
