We are just back from our trip to Healdsburg and the Russian River area. That area is now my favorite destination to the wine country. We stayed at The Haydon B & B in Healdsburg, The location is fabulous just few blocks from downtown.
As we arrived we were greeted by the inkeeper John, he made us feel instantly right at home. The house is an historic Queen Ann that is kept in a very nice condition and our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay and we will certainly go back. Hopefully we will get to taste John's pizza next time.

A wonderful alternative to the uber expensive hotels on the square! Rooms are well appointed and clean, the owners are very attentive and shared great advice. The breakfast was 5 star! While only a couple of blocks for the center of town, the extra 2 minute walk is worth it.

We just returned from a vacation in Healdsburg and San Francisco for our 30th wedding anniversary. We spent 3 nights at the Haydon Street Inn in the Cottage Suite. While I did feel that the price was on the high end of our budget, we truly enjoyed our stay. The suite was in a separate building from the main house and very private and comfortable. Meeting in the main house for a breakfast prepared by John was a great way to start our day. Delicious! We met some very nice people from Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois and Massachusetts. John was very helpful with our plans to the coast and recommended Armstrong Woods to see the giant redwoods. We would definitely stay here again! We have previously stayed in Napa and prefer the pace of life in Healdsburg by far. Walking to restaurants in the square was a perfect waynto end our day. Oh, make sure you pet Haydon (the cat) and watch out for the drool!

Highly recommend. Keren & John are gracious hosts and with the Inn's period decor, we considered ourselves guests in their home. John's breakfasts are delicious and the evening wine hour is a pleasant experience - looked forward to John's homemade pizza but afternoon showers precluded firing up the o/s oven. Great location for our initial visit (Michiganders) as we were able to take day trips to the coast and upper Napa Valley as well as "local" wine tastings.
