If you are touring the wine country and are looking for an affordable alternative to some of the pricier motels/hotels/B&Bs in the area, this is it. My wife and I wanted to bicycle, taste wine, and enjoy some good food. We spend little time in any hotel room and it seems logical to save money on accommodations, freeing up money for other things.
The rooms are dated, but very clean and well kept. The continental breakfast is simple, but adequate. Wanda, the owner/operator, was full of good suggestions for experiencing the area and getting the most out of our visit. A great value!

We have stayed in several small hotels/B&B's in this area - usually expensive- and were looking for a more reasonable option. This place is clean but the rooms are very small and very much 50's style. Safe and clean, but next time we will look for something newer.

We stayed here once before, a couple of years ago and had a good night's sleep, so we booked a room again knowing that it's clean and comfortable. But this time our room (#19) was right next to the office and was even smaller than the small room we had last time. Yet we had another great night's sleep here. The bed was super comfortable with high quality sheets, the towels were big and fluffy, the shower excellent and the room was very clean. There was a quiet, small fridge in the room and free internet. And in the morning we had coffee, boiled eggs and really yummy blueberry scones (included in the room rate). It's a great value and we would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I just spent a weekend in wine country, with Healdsburg as our base.

Plan A - spend $350/night at a fancy B&B
Plan B - spend $200/night at a normal hotel
Plan C - spend $85/night at L&M, spend the rest at Cyrus and buying nice wine

Plan C, baby!!! Exactly as per the reviews here, L&M is clean, completely adequate, very friendly, and a very short walk from downtown H'burg. Our fantastic dinner at Cyrus was $350, our lovely wine country tours with Terrific Tours were $100/pp (pickup and dropoff at the L&M) - basically paid for with the savings of staying at the L&M for 2 nights.

This place rocks - I would have to be really, really rich to justify staying anywhere else, given the other things I can use my money for in this area.

I would never have heard of L&M without TA - internet power!!!
