“Just average”

We stayed here while participating in the Winter Wineland event. I was getting a little concerned when we drove through the neighborhood to reach the town home as the area is somewhat sketchy. The town home is a decent size with 2 bedrooms with 1 bath on the bottom floor and a large living room, small kitchen and full bathroom on the top floor. The bedroom on the bottom floor was large and contained a queen size bed and futon bed. It also had a sink in the bedroom which I thought was odd. The other bedroom was of average size with a queen size bed. The downstairs bathroom had a tub-shower combination. The large living area upstairs had a futon couch and regular couch. It even had a piano which I think is wonderful in a home but in a rental the space would have been better used for additional seating. The kitchen was small and poorly equipped. We brought food with us to grill and the BBQ was totally falling apart. It was a cheap BBQ and had seen better days. Upstairs there was another full bathroom. The bathroom was very nice with a large corner shower with 2 shower heads and large vanity with a sink. Overall the furniture and decor was very basic. I think the price was decent for the size of the rental but would not stay here again.

“Great time at the River!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This place was terrific! This is where our family spent the Thanksgiving holiday. The spacious living room, fully stocked kitchen and outside deck on both floors were all a plus. The location to the river was within perfect walking distance. The town was quaint and welcoming. The only downside was the bed in the smaller room had slats falling from the bed frame which made it squeaky and uncomfortable. The cable TV in the living room had alot of static whenever the internet was accessed via wi-fi. There was a instruction notebook that was very helpful in figuring out how to use the various amemities. Overall this is a GREAT place, in a GREAT location and we WILL definitely be back to Balalaika Guest Homes.

“Great Location, Great Place to Stay in Guerneville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Stayed here for a long (3 day) weekend with my wife and five year old daughter in early October 2011. We were looking for a spacious place to stay that was close to wineries and restaurants. The Balalaika Guest Homes were exactly what we had hoped they would be. They provided plenty of space, were in a very peaceful/relaxing setting, and were in close proximity to plenty of wineries and places to eat. It was great to have separate bedrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen. The location set among the redwood was wonderful. This place is definitely the best "value" I've found in wine country. We highly recommend staying here and plan to do so again in the not too distant future.

“Great place, but needs new mattresses.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

Nice condo, very spacious and clean. Wasnt far from all the wineries that we went to in the Russian River area. Our only problem was that the bed in the smaller room didnt have a real boxspring and you would wake up with an aching back, which wasnt good for vacation. Also, we would have liked to have an iron but it was very nice to have a washer/dryer. Need more lighting in the bedrooms. Overall it was a great place.

Room Tip: The larger room was nice because it had a sink in it and the bed was much better than the smaller ro...

“Excellent Place to Stay!!!”

As a group of friends and I were looking for a place to stay for the weekend for a softball tournament, we found the Balalaika Guest Homes (we stayed at the one on 14693 Canyon 7 Rd.). We were very impressed when we arrived. The place was very spacious and clean. And we loved the amenities especially the washer/dryer. We enjoyed the BBQ and the deck. Checking-in and -out was very, very easy. Cost was affordable especially w/ no cleaning fees and one-week commitments. And the people running these homes were very kind and easy to work with. We would most definitely stay here in the future!
