Spent three nights here for a women's get-away and it was absolutely wonderful. The house was roomy and easily accomodated the six. We utilized the hottub which was also great. The only negatives would be the lack of a corkscrew :) and the internet going down when one of our ladies needed it for her school (not Balalaika's fault-we assume someone accidentally unplugged the router when they left). The location was great. It is not secluded, yet it feels as though you are. The location was also close enough to do some serious touristy things (we hit up Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, multiple wineries, the Pacific Coast, and Armstrong Redwood Forrest). Great food and stores in Guernville also added to a positive experience. All-in-all, a great trip. I will hopefully be staying again!

We stayed in lodge 14693. We loved the fireplace, dual head shower, the labeled light switches, water filter pitcher, multiple kitchen appliances, cleanliness of the place, and clear instructions on how to leverage the central heat, which worked very well. We also the loved the green and private view from both deck levels in the front of the house.

We did not love the dirty wash clothes or the bed in the largest bedroom that had a sink hole in the middle of it from the bowed slat underneath. We suspect it needs tightening or replacement.

We would return, with assurance that our backs and necks won't be in distress when we leave. Nevertheless, since these are easily fixable things, we would definitely return.

We spent three days in a two-bedroom guest home. Completely outfitted kitchen, so we could cook and eat in on a rainy nite. The gas fireplace was a treat. They welcomed our two well-behaved dogs. The drive out to the ocean was gorgeous and the people in the town of Gureneville were most welcoming. We're coming back!

I just stayed at the Balalaika Guest Homes and I couldn't of asked for anything better. I have stayed at places that were twice as much in the river area that were nowhere near the quality of here. You actually felt like you were home, which is always a nice feeling. It was so nice to have the fire going while listening to the rain. It was a perfect way to spend a much needed quiet few days. And I loved the sectional couch, it was big and so comfy. The only thing I would have to say is that I wish they would upgrade the cable package. You don't get that many good channels with the basic cable. But other than that, we couldn't of had a better time. I can't wait to go back. We are planning on making this our new regular getaway as often as we can.
