Our room (201) was spacious and very comfortable. The problem is that the large window doesn't have a curtain that keeps out light; all it has is the gauzy covering that offers a little privacy. But if you want to sleep after the sun comes up, you'd better have a mask on. There is also a port hole window with no covering at all.

One reason I like going to Comfort Inns is that their breakfast is usually better than at other budget motels. That was not the case here.Breakfast is supposed to go on till 9. We went down at 8:30 and there were no eggs - the guy running the place said they were out. There was the ubiquitous waffle maker, English muffins, prepackaged pastries and high-sugar cereal. So be prepared for a major morning carbo rush. All this made the lack of an exercise room a little more unfortunate.

On the plus side, the guy at the front desk was friendly and helpful.

All in all, an ok place.

Highly recommend the La Estancia. The grounds are beautiful, the Inn is clean and it is well appointed. Comfort all around.

I came out there in February and stayed at this establishment. I was very happy with the room, the quaint setting of the grounds, and the location. I will be coming out again next week, and I fully plan on staying here again.

Our company started booking us at the Comfort In Estancia in January, and I have stayed there for more than twenty-guest nights since then. I've stayed all over the area- San Marcos, Escondido, Vista, Oceanside, and this is by far the best accommodations I have had to date. We leave the hotel around 6 AM every workday, and Rocky, the owner, will get up early to put out breakfast for us every day. All special requests have been honored, and they make it so very easy to stay there every time we return. It's the little things that they take care of and make us feel right at home. The rooms are clean and spacious, and all of the grounds are kept up with care and attention to detail. Sometimes we come in with a trailer, and there is an extra parking lot right there that could easily accommodate a semi-trailer. In addition, the restaurant in the building serves great Italian food, with a wonderful wine selection and Karaoke twice a week. As a regular traveler, I can say this establishment is a breath of fresh air.
