We stayed at Cedar Lodge because we were able to get a Junior Suite with kitchenette for a reasonable cost. The hotel is about 20 minute drive from Yosemite gates.
The rooms are actually quite gloomy, not helped by the dark, quite dated furniture. However, everything was functional and worked, the air con was effective but a little noisy and most of all the beds / pillows were comfortable, even the pull down bed, so we slept well. The shower (good) and toilet were together in one room, the wash basin was in a separate adjoining area.
The food was ok but not the best. We were in the bar early evening so it was very busy and the polite and hard working staff were rushed off their feet. It seemed to us that they were under staffed - they could have done with at least another 2 people on duty. We didn't have to wait too long for food though, but it was very basic no frills stuff.
You had to pay extra for wifi ( not good) and it was a little on slow side. There was also a small well stocked shop near to reception.More
