Our family spend five nights here as we toured the area from Los Angeles to San Diego. We were looking for a clean and comfortable hotel with convenient access that was not in the tourist mecca of Anaheim. The Kings Inn met our expectations. Access to Califoria 91 is easy, and from there to anywhere else, especially if you don't mind using the toll roads. We had no complaints about the room - beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Lighting was a bit dim unless you opened the curtains. Parking right outside the room door was convenient. The property is well maintained and spotless - the staff even seemed to be sweeping the parking lot regularly. Staff were friendly and helpful.
There are no other hotels in the immediate area, but there are three restaurants and a convenience store with fuel. Our meals at the Mill Creek and Goodfellas restaurants were some of the best on our vacation. Good tasting, generous portions and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the Mill Creek is also a popular night spot on weekends, and from midnight until about 2am it was noisy enough to wake us up on Friday night.
Our only complaint would be with the breakfast. It is the typical hotel continental breakfast of pre-packaged baked goods, cereals, etc. It seemed like the breakfast was offered reluctantly because it was expected, but they weren't really dedicated to this aspect of their service. Hours are limited (when on vacation, why do we have to be done breakfast by 9?), staff rarely check on the room and supplies unless someone knocks on the door and asks for something, and the quality of the food was poor (my wife found mold on one slice of bread). Not very many guest seemed to be eating there, we quit eating there, and one staff member actually recommended eating elsewhere.
