We arrived from Phontshillong, the southern border town after a 5-hour drive and found the staff at the reception welcoming. They were quick to offer us hot water and the check-in was smooth. The rooms are in separate cottages, surrounded by a garden. Our room was large enough, complete with traditional wall paintings and two room heaters. The toilet was clean but the bath tub had some marks toward the tail. We stayed there for two nights and the food offered was particularly to our liking. The owner is an Indian who has recently started another hotel just off the main city square with the plans of making that a three-star property. This particular resort is 12-years old and would do well with a little of touch up here and there. The parking is at the bottom of the road from where its a short but steep climb to the reception and the rooms. The resort is supposedly beside a hospital though we never had the misfortune to check out the facilities there!
