“Would not recommend to friends and family”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We went on a trip to Bhutan in November 2011. We visited Sikkim but due to recent earthquake, we couldnt visit North Sikkim and hence made plans to visit Bhutan. And it was a very wise decision. Though we stayed in Thimpu and Paro for 6N in all, this was the worst of the three hotels we stayed. We shifted out immediately after 1 Night. The rooms were small and cramped, poorly lit even during daytime. The bathroom was more brightly lit than the room itself. We complained the same to our travel agent and he passed on the message to the Hotel owners. After that, the manager and staff of the hotel were in confrontation mood indicating why we complained. The food was not great. The good part for the hotel was that it was located in Paro market, but i would trade that to better service and rooms any day.

“Good place to stay in downtown Paro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Hotel Jigmeling is clean, spacious and a great value (Nu 1500 for a double deluxe at the time of writing). If you need to stay in downtown Paro for any reason, this is the place to go. The rooms are a good size, have a TV, hot water, western toilets and a heater and some of them even have a small porch off the backside of the hotel. The staff is helpful and friendly and the food in the sharp-looking restaurant is quite good. It is located near the local taxi park amongst 4-5 other hotels that are a similar class; I can't speak to the others but the Jigmeling is a solid place.

“Reliable in-town option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, large and clean room with a balcony and a space heater, and plenty of hot water. Restaurant was merely average, but they can pack you a lunch if you need one. Especially if you need to spend a night in Paro town itself (as opposed to one of the 'resorts' elsewhere in the valley), this is a good and reliable option, as well as inexpensive.

Quite nice. Located in the centre of town. Slightly laid back. Nice value for money.

“Nice Stay”

We stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel location is very good just beside the place from where local sightseeing cabs are available. One thing i liked about the hotel is that the room service is lightning quick. The rooms are good and warm, the people are nice. They have a cool restaurant, where we enjoyed our food. The food is nice with Indian dishes available along with Bhutanese dishes.
