“Nice Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2011

We stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel location is very good just beside the place from where local sightseeing cabs are available. One thing i liked about the hotel is that the room service is lightning quick. The rooms are good and warm, the people are nice. They have a cool restaurant, where we enjoyed our food. The food is nice with Indian dishes available along with Bhutanese dishes.

“Clean & Comfy - good food with some variety !”

Stayed for a total of 3 nights in Hotel Jigmeling, Paro during Nov '10.
The hotel is well located in centre of Paro, with clean, simple rooms including TV, bathroom with plenty of hot water, and a room heater - what more do you need !!
Family run with a good little restaurant which serves good food that has some variety from the usual Bhutan standard tourist fare - probably the best food of all the hotels I stayed at in Bhutan - drinks available and prices better than a lot of other places.
Enjoyed my stays at Jigmeling - adequate & comfortable !

“Comfortable, clean and inexpensive.”

A local travel agent helped me get a local rate of $18 for a single room here near the peak of tourist season, and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and the service. It had a full bath with towels and soap, a space heater, TV, and a very comfortable bed . Good restaurant. All of it seemed very efficiently run by a friendly and attentive staff. Located right in downtown Paro..

“Clean, comfortable, nice service, tasty food - a pleasant start to our Bhutan trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2010

Stayed here for 2 nights with a birdwatching group of 8. Rooms were simply furnished but very clean, some had balconies. Beds were cosy, firm but comfortable, hot water bottles were available on request, and the fan heater in the room was very welcome with our 5am starts, but otherwise not really needed! Ensuite bathrooms were adequate with ample hot water and reasonable shower flow.

Breakfast was cornflakes, eggs and toast; evening meals comprised soup, followed by a buffet of about 7 different dishes - a sort of westernised Indian/Chinese mixture which I thought tasted pretty good - usually 2 meat choices, rice, noodles and vegetarian options, followed by a dessert of banana or apple fritters. We had our first introduction to Bhutanese beer, Druk 11000 which was okay although a little strong. Wine was available on the first evening, but not the second - I don't think there's usually much demand for it at 1200 rupees per bottle!

Service throughout was excellent; all the staff were lovely and very helpful. All-in-all a very pleasant start to our week in Bhutan.

“Lovely intro to Bhutan!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2009

This was the first place we stayed at in Bhutan. and we rally fell in love with Bhutan right here! nice, clean hotel, lovely rooms with a nice view and very helpful staff. in fact when one of our friends met with a minor accident the owner herself drove him to the hospital for the dressing of the wound! it is definitely value for money. highly recommended.
