“Cozy Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We booked a one night weeknight stay for a low $100's rate. They did accommodate a 3pm early check-in and gave us a queen room on the bottom floor in the 200 building. As soon as we got into the room, it was clean and felt cozy and romantic.

Positives:
- Large comfy room and bed.
- Free parking for guests.
- Location-Right off of Highway 1 and less than 5 minutes to the town center.
- The fireplace (fire log included).
- The view - the evening was foggy, but the morning was bright and sunny. Some of the rooms in Building 200 have great views of the bay in between the restaurant and spa.
- The Spa, Sauna and even the pool was therapeutic on a cold winter night.
- The wine reception, which was still available a half hour past the 6 pm cut off.

For this particular stay I had no issues or complaints except for no AT&T signal. However, the wireless internet made up for it. So I definitely recommend this hotel for a staycation, vacation, honeymoon or getaway.

2 food suggestions:

- Spud Point Crab Company had delicious crab sandwiches and clam chowder (5 minute drive).
- Hog Island Oyster Farm in Marshall is an excellent place to bring your side dishes and drinks to enjoy shooting or barbequing fresh small oysters. They BBQ them for you from Friday to Sunday (30 minutes from the lodge).

Enjoy Bodega Bay!

“Gorgeous Views - Romantic Getaway”

My husband and I took a driving tour up the California Coast starting in San Diego and ending on the Sonoma Coast. The Bodega Bay Lodge was our favorite stop. The hotel rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious and very romantic. We reserved the Pacific Coast Lower room which had a fireplace, outdoor patio, large bathroom and gorgeous ocean and bay views. Our room was very spacious with a desk, bar area and couch with coffee table. The hotel is not large but it has a spa, fitness center and and excellent restaurant (the Duck Club). Everything we ate there was beautifully prepared and we especially enjoyed the fresh oysters, the duck breast and the pork chop. It exceeded our expectations. There are lots of beautiful hikes and walks in Bodega Bay and north on Hwy 1 at Sonoma State Beach.

Room Tip: The hotel faces faces the ocean and Bodega Bay so you won't be disappointed by the views in any...

“Very cozy place, in a great location”

My fiance and I went here for a weekend as a nice little getaway. We had a great time, and were able to get a great deal on the room. We arrived to find the room very clean, a big comfy bed, and a beautiful bathroom with all amenities needed.

There was a fireplace in room (very nice), a free bottle of wine, and a nice view from the small patio/ balcony. There was furniture on the balcony, and it was very comfortable. The view from the balcony as alright. Be aware, the "ocean" is rather far away from this property. I have spent a LOT of time in and around Bodega Bay, and the view, although great, is not of the ocean. Its more of a bay view, with marshlands. Dont get me wrong though. With a glass of wine in hand and relaxing on the patio, it made for a perfect view. Just dont expect to go there and let the waves lull you to sleep.

We ate dinner off property one night, and at the Duck Club restaurant the other night. Its a good restaurant, delicious food, with a nice little "lounge" next to it, that made it able for us to grab a drink before dinner. This is nice, as there are not too many options around the area, and you wouldn't have to drive. We both really liked this property. It was very clean, with very nice staff. We were able to get a couples massage, in our room, that worked out very nicely. I highly recommend that!!!

If you live in and around the bay area or even coming from farther away, this is a nice place to go relax, and enjoy time with someone special. There is not a TON of things to do around Bodega Bay, but enough for a weekend.

My husband and I spent the first 3 nights of our honeymoon here! It was perfect! The rooms were spacious & very clean! Our suite had a great fireplace & huge jacuzzi tub! The grounds were soooo beautiful! What made our stay so wonderful was the staff! They went above & beyond to do anything to help us have a great honeymoon & they were so friendly! We went on to Napa Valley & the Ritz in San Francisco.... This was our favorite by far!

“A perfect hide away...”

Upon entering the front door of the Lodge, you are greeted by friendly, professional staff members who go out of their way to ensure your comfort whilst visiting. Jon, Sheri and Abbey are just a few of the memorable staff members. Our harbor room overlooking the grounds was perfectly situated (bldg 4, top floor)...wondrous views ~ comfy bed with euro comforter ~ lots of pillows ~ relaxing chairs to satisfy viewing pleasure ~ and the most fabulous bathroom. I loved the fact that each room had a mini fridge. Always a plus if you purchase local goodies. The property's restaurant is simply divine...dinner can be a bit rich (scallops), depending on what you order, but the quality of ingredients, presentation and attentive service is fabulous. A warning: the bread is too good! Refrain, or you shall fill up. My partner had the half chicken, which was cooked to perfection, retaining its moisture and superbly spiced. He stated it was one of the best chicken dishes he had feasted upon. Emily, who served our first and second dinner, was a young lady we shall never forget. She is truly the epitome of hospitality! She is a Jill-of-all-trades, as you may hear her answer phones, bring room service (our second night – I ordered a plate of veggies and they obliged) or wait upon you within the restaurant. She is forthright and gracious. The breakfast, a "sonoma" w/eggs & bacon were of high quality (eggs tasted like they were just laid), and the eggs benedict were perfectly seasoned with a light and savory hollandaise sauce. Not too salty and not too bland. Just perfect. The property pays attention to detail, such as providing high quality soaps and lotions throughout, good foliage that compliments the natural landscape, intelligent lighting, a cozy lobby fireplace that makes the nightly happy hour that much more special, along with strategic placement of the restaurant, workout room, pool and hot tub for ultimate viewing pleasure. Relaxing within the confines of the sauna transports you to another world. Again, pure heaven.
It is seldom that I have had the pleasure of meeting an outstanding crew under one corporate roof. The morning servers were outstanding, not too mention the grounds people were all friendly and courteous. Could there be one grumpy person hanging out…somewhere?? The place exudes perfection.
The location of the lodge is simply as close to heaven as you will get. The marsh, the unspoiled beach (walk to the left of the lodge for incredible views), whale watching (yes we saw a few in January), barking seals and the general quietness is alluring. The one downside is the blasted foghorn. As nautically magical it may appear, it is a nuisance. Take earplugs! The front desk shall provide if you forget.
Other than that, I cannot wait to return and hide out within one of the world’s most magical spots. Oh, and I may bring a b/b gun and shoot the foghorn…

Room Tip: Ask for room that are on the higher floors, with views as they are what you go for.
