Very clean, quiet n nice staff. Ask for room on side facing left of the office...its quieter there w less cars parked. 0.75 soda n water in lobby , just ask. Walking distance to coffee shop n restaurants. Nice tile shower not cheap plastic tub like u usually get at motels. Granite faux countertop in kitchen/vanity area. Fridge n microwave. King bed room good size. Would stay here again. Room price on Fri night was 99 bucks.

“Definitely would stay again”

We were driving through Blythe on the way to SoCal so was not looking to spend a fortune. I am a Hilton Honors member and this was one of their hotels, so I took a chance. The room was clean and quiet and everyone seemed polite at the desk during check-in and check-out. I didn't eat the breakfast since we were rushing out of town, but I did grab one of the go bags they had for people who didn't have time to stop for breakfast. I thought that was a great addition.

Now as far as the town of Blythe...we now call it "Blah". It's not horrible, but seems pretty dead and kind of run down. It's the middle of the desert, so there is not a lot going on there. But this hotel is decent compared to the rest of the town and kind of made up for the depressing surroundings.

“Well ... it IS Blythe”

This is probably a lower rung Hampton Inn. However the room was fine and the service was friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room had all amenities. The appearance is more motel than motel, but it IS Blythe.

“I think I'll try somewhere else next time.”

I've stayed here twice, once about a year ago and again recently, paid a little over $100 each time. The first time I though it was ok, not great. More on the cheap motel end of the spectrum than you would expect from a Hampton Inn, and not really worth the Hampton Inn price, but you don't have a lot of options out here. This time things really seemed to have slid from last time, and I think I'll be looking elsewhere the next time I pass through. On both occasions the wireless was terribly slow -- this time I had an iPhone and just shut off wireless because 3G was so much faster. (At least there is good 3G coverage.) The usual white Hampton Inn bedcovers were stained yellow along the edges of the bed. The in room fridge was broken and someone else's food had been left in it. The old tube TV whined terribly. The faucet part of the tub, with the pull switch to divert water to the shower head, was broken which made getting the shower head to work at all very difficult. And there was a hair stuck in the soap dish. So overall I was left with the impression that the place is no longer being very well maintained or cleaned.

I'm not one to trash hotels (I usually manage to avoid bad hotels thanks to the reviews here!) -- if you look over my other reviews I think you'll see I'm fairly even handed. A year ago this place seemed ok, maybe I just got a bad room this time, but it certainly left me with the impression that a lot has changed in a year.

“Motel with good facilities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2009

This was a standard 'road trip' motel for us. Really good breakfast, nice pool and gym facilities. Room was clean. However, we felt it was very expensive for what we got. Well over priced in our view, and as Blythe has little to offer, we were really surprised at the price. We were there the first night of 'Dove Hunting' and were appalled to find the hotel had provided tables and hose pipes for hunters to dismember their catch right outside our room. There were feathers everywhere. If you're like me - borderline veggie squeemish English person, then you'll understand how horrible this was in the parking lot outside your hotel room! Facilities in Blythe are basic. We ate in the nearby Sizzler which was cheap but satisfying. Would definitely give this hotel a better rating if it was $50 a night cheaper and missing the dead birds!
