Marbell is lucky, it has a great location looking out over the bay in Port de Soller. It's in a quiet location and handy for the beach.
However, the hotel is getting run down and the food is very poor. As I was put here as part of a tour, I didn't get the value of the cheap price that would take the sting out the poor facilities.
Problems I encountered:-
- large number of ants in the first room I was allocated.
- lukewarm food at every evening meal. Undercooked rice, overcooked vegetables.
- very limited breakfast selection, getting more and more limited as the week went on
- noisy plumbing kept me awake
The hotel has very good shutters over the window which kept the rooms dark during the night, and also the terrace on the bar provides a great view over the bay. Beyond that I'm struggling to see positives.
This is not a hotel for people with mobility problems, there are steps to reception, steps to the swimming pool and if you're in some rooms, a flight of stairs to get to your door.
Bring your own soap,as no toiletries whatsoever are provided.
