“Great Location, Average Food, Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed at the Hotel Eden in 2011 for a week durin the height of the summer. The hotel was clean and the staff were very welcoming. Although the room was small we did have a view of the sea. It is worth paying the extra money for a sea view as the sunset over the bay is stunning.

The facilities are nothing to shout about. The pool is small and the competition for a lounger is brutal. There was a daily rush to get a towel on a chair although the staff did try to prevent people from reserving chairs in this way. However the sea is less than 30 seconds away from the pool so if you want a swim then the clean waters of the bay are lovely and refreshing.

We stayed on a half board basis and we happy enough with breakfast but the evening meal was below average. There are so many great places to eat in Soller that I would advise against this option. Bed and Breakfast will be fine but if you want to sample the best of Spanish cuisine this isn't the place to do it.

The majority of guests are either German, French or Scandinavian with the odd Brit here and there. The town has a great European feel and everyone is friendly.

Bus connections to Palma are easy and we travelled from the airport to Soller by Bus which was much cheaper than a taxi and took no more than an hour.

In all a relaxing holiday in a great location.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view!

“Our ruined 2011 holiday!”

My wife and I have visited the lovely resort of Puerto de Soller for a few years with friends saying at family run hotel which was fully booked this year so we chose The Eden as it was a slightly higher grade. We had a very early start from home at 04.30am for the flight from B/Ham International Airport and consequently went to bed early at 8.45 pm in our second
flooroom with sea view because of this!! The music started directly below our window at 9.00pm and it was so loud that the shutters and window panes rattled loudly and it was impossible to sleep. We stuck it for thirty minutes, but finally rang reception to request a move to a room away from the noise. We were moved to the rear of the hotel on lower floor which seemed of a similar standard as it was now dark. The next morning the room was actually on the ground floor and the patio door had been bricked up to prevent leaving the room. The reason for this was a stench pipe from toilets below about 30 centimeters from the door and it did stink!! The other side of the door was a grill which turned out to be the hotel Laundrey and this was noisily used from 08.00am to about 6.00pm daily!! It was a nightmare and so we asked to be moved again, but met with unhelpful and almost dis-interested response. The desk staff were quite offhand and stated no other room was available as the Hotel was full. Because the room was on the ground floor we were plagued with ants and mosquitos and the toilet seat and lid which was squeezed into a corner had to be held up with a hook which repeatedly slipped off. What a dump! Our impression was that this room was kept for anyone complaining?? I do have to say that the restaurant and its staff were good in contrast to the reception staff, but we definitely will never go back. The swimming pool was nice, but not large enough for 200 plus rooms with just thirty sun loungers for probably over 800 customers, so we ended up on the beach each day. Eden does not provide beach towels unlike our lower grade hotel at the other end of the Port, so we managed to book there again for 2012, what a relief! Eden would not entertain a refund or even concede the second room was of a lower grade, which it clearly was.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room above the restaurant and avoid the rooms above the patio where music is pla...

“Pleasant Seaside Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Lovely location on the seafront of Port Soller. We had a Superior Room which was spacious, with a little extra area leading onto a good sized balcony with afternoon sun.
The a/c wouldn't drop below 21' which we were assured was mandatory in Spain (that's a first!). Sliding doors open did let in noise from a pool party but it wasn't a problem.. listening to the waves was soothing instead.
Breakfast was reasonable but artificial orange juice should be banned on this island of oranges.
Overall very pleased with our experience. Excellent for a 3* hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room with sea view & balcony on high floor (7 floors).

“Still superb but.....”

I just can't fault this hotel and resort except...we went at the end of June, when there is the St Peter's festival. Now this is fine and very nice but the beach is taken over for three nights by dance music until 6 in the morning and NO-ONE gets any sleep. Soooo, avoid this place unless you like dance music played very loudly, and if you do, Ibiza is not that far away and you can listen to that every night.
Otherwise, everything about this hotel and resort is exceptionally good as in my last review here.

“Excellent location.”

We are just back from a fortnight here and thought overall this was a good hotel and value for money. The receptionists were good at speaking English and we always found them helpful. Food was good-a reasonable buffet selection for breakfast and dinner. Dining room had nice informal atmosphere.
Our room was kept clean but we were disappointed we never had a balcony. On saying that when we booked it did say that a balcony was not guaranteed but we thought that if we were there for a fortnight we would have been given one. Next time we would book a superior room.
Location is perfect and not noisy at night even although you are right on the front.
