We spent part of our honeymoon here in October 2004 as we were travelling around Mallorca, Barcelona, and Andorra. We were so stunned by the beauty and history of this place that we altered plans to stay longer. We had planned to only stay in Port de Soller for two nights and then return back to the south of the island. Instead we extended our stay here to four nights. One thing that struck as odd (in a positive way) was that when we inquired about whether they could accommodate us for two more nights, the staff seemed somewhat flustered and apologetic and explained that given the short notice they could give us a room, but could not allow us to keep the room we had as a bus tour was coming in and all rooms for those guests already assigned. We did not care about the particular room so readily agreed. We were then so pleasantly stunned when we were 'forced' to move into an evern more lovely room! Got quite a chuckle out of that. It is a very warm hotel with hundreds of years of history. Port de Soller itself is also warm and full of very endearing inhabitants - one of those places that just pleasantly takes up residence in a corner of your soul and leaves you feeling all the better for it!
