“Charming and a good base for exploring the Tramantana area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We stayed for 2 weeks mid September 2011 and really enjoyed our stay. Pascal & Elina were charming and very helpful. We had an upstairs suite and the ambiance of the hotel, size of room, standard of accommodation and the lovely breakfasts were as described by other reviewers. We did not hire a car and just used local buses, trams, railway or walked. Soller is not car friendly as the streets are very narrow and, if you have one, you can use a carpark in the next street from the hotel. It is a good base for walking in the Tramantana area including, Port da Soller, Deia, Fornalutx & Binibissi. We had some lovely evening meals and recommend restaurants Can Boqueta & Sa Granja in Soller and Ses Oliveres & Randemar in Port da Soller. Sometimes we walked down to the Port and got the last tram back. One important consideration is the stairs to high level rooms are very steep and the hotel does not have a lift!

“Superb place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

In October we stayed at this delightful, chic, small hotel and we were most wonderfully looked after by its charming owner and lovely staff. Inside it is beautifully planned with elegant and thoughtful features. It is situated in a quiet, narrow street, hardly a five minutes stroll from the central square. We slept very well. Breakfast was always beautifully presented, fresh and delicious and served in a pretty courtyard or inside in a lovely dining room. Thank you Pascal and Gracielle. We definitely hope to return and highly recommend it.

“Great little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

We stayed at the Ca'n Abril for four nights with friends earlier this summer. Our room was very large and clean. The bathroom was superb, also spacious and very clean. The owners were welcoming and attentive, they served drinks when we arrived early whilst our rooms were made ready. Breakfast was served in the courtyard, and was very nice, although after four days a little repetitive.

The hotel is situated a short walk from the centre of Soller on a quiet street. We would defiantly stay again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1 by the front door, and it was quiet, we were not disturbed by other guests.

“A very comfortable & tranquil establishment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

We stayed at Ca’n Abril for 5 nights in July on the last leg of our two week holiday in Majorca. It was everything we had hoped for & lived up to all we had read about by previous reviewers. The owners obviously take a pride in their hotel and in giving a warm welcome aiming to make guests feel comfortable without being obtrusive.

We opted for a superior double as it had air-conditioning. It was beautiful, traditionally & comfortably furnished with a large modern bathroom. The room had three windows, two full length shuttered windows which looked out onto the narrow street.

The street it was situated in was just a short walk from the main square in Soller & we enjoyed strolling down for an early evening drink opting to make use of Bar Turisimo, very popular with locals, just off the square, however with plenty to see as the trams ran past the outside seating area on the way to the station.

Pascal, the owner, provided both useful suggestions for places to visit up & down the west coast & ideas for where to eat on an evening. As we had a car we very much used the hotel as a base & explored the area around Soller & that side of the island fully. Pascal also directed us to a free carpark further up the street within walking distance of the hotel. We were fortunate each time on our return to be able to find a space, however there is also a paying car park that Pascal can make available if required. It did take us a couple of days & attempts to get our bearings as Soller has a one way system & plenty of similar looking narrow streets, however we soon got the hang of it! Prior to our stay Pascal was in email contact & kindly sent us directions to Ca’n Abril which proved very helpful.

Initially it seemed to us as if it had always been a hotel, however there was a rolling slideshow on a laptop computer on the reception desk, which, when we took the time to study, made us realise the hard work & care that had gone into renovating a large old Soller townhouse to make it into the comfortable & tranquil establishment it now is. I really hope we will be able to return there again in the future!

“Best for quality & value in Soller”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

Having stayed in Soller a number of times and enjoyed all the hotels we've chosen, we consider the beautifully restored Ca'n Abril the best for quality and value.

We had a superior double for 118 € p/n. The room overlookd the small quiet street close to the centre. It was a lovely mixture of traditional (original floor tiles, ceiling rose and cornice, large "French" windows with balcony, shutters, etc.) and contemporary (modern shower and bath, bathroom tiling, etc.). Excellent, and I'm sorry I didn't remember to take some photographs because the web-site doesn't do it justice.

The small terrace above the central courtyard (where the lovely continental breakfast is served) was good for a spot of sunbathing from around 9.30am. We were never there later than 12.30pm but I'd guess the sun would still be on the terrace until mid-afternoon.

Pascal is an excellent host - friendly and welcoming - who speaks excellent English. (Good luck to you and your family in your travels this winter, Pascal, I hope we'll see you again in Soller before too long.)

Room Tip: Didn't see other rooms but Pascal offered to change our room (no 3) to a quieter one by the terr...
